I'm no military strategist, but from what I've read Russia's next objective is to head north along the Dnieper River to encircle Ukrainian forces in the east. Some suggest if the city of "Kryvyi Rih" is captured which is the first southern city along that route, it might be game over for Ukraine.

I don't think it will ever be game over for Ukraine. If and when the Russian military "wins," meaning what constitutes the defeat of the formal Ukrainian military, that just marks the beginning of a never-ending grind of an insurgency. Russia doesn't have the ability to take and hold the country. 

But I'm not underestimating these Ukers.

Russia annexed Crimea in 2014... where is that Ukraine "never-ending" insurgency?  Russia can hold the Donbas region for their Crimea land bridge. 

Russia's economy is hurting, but they have the 11th highest GDP in the world which is expected to decrease by 15% next year. Ukraine has the 60th highest GDP, which is expected to decrease by 50% next year.

Short of full Nato support, they'll eventually be forced to the negotiating table to give up Donbas and other concessions. That's a "win" for Russia. Is it worth it given the long-term economic cost to Russia? Probably not, but the 69-year old billionaire Putin doesn't care about that.

NATO are puzzy, wine and cheese gobbling, bureaucrats.  Every chess match they play has an ultimate goal of them keeping their cushy job.  And Putin knows his opponent well. There will be no NATO support in war or at the negotiating table.

Most of the soldiers in NATO countries are tough and dedicated.   Their leadership, however, is a bunch of cheese-eating doosh-bags.
