I havent read all the tweets, just reported what I heard

doxxing can be treated as accessory to a crime

his family was threatened

he has received numerous death threats, more than probably any left winger, but you guys are ok with his family being threatened

Drew Harwell - didn’t technically post a link, but did post a screenshot but I’ll give Elon the benefit of the doubt here.  Well I guess he technically linked to the twitter account which was already suspended, not sure if that counts too. Violation

Aaron Rupar - posted a link to the Fb page.  Violation

Tony Webster - allegedly posted the link.  Violation

Olbermann - posted the link. Violation

Micah Flee - kinda posted the link.  Violation

Donie O’Sullivan - as mentioned, only see that he linked to an article about the situation

Matt Binder - don’t see evidence he linked to anything, just this:

Ryan Mac - don’t see evidence he linked to anything, do see some specifically claiming that he didn’t

maybe elon should post 24/7 the real-time locations of where those journalists are too and see how they like it?

This is not a free speech issue.  It's a liberal POS whiney bastard issue.

Musk said it's a free speech issue, said he wouldn't ban the jet account because he believes in free speech.

It is curious.  I honestly do hope he is only doing it to make a point, and show them what was being done.  So as to allow them time and space to complain as others did when it was working the other way......but I am not sure that is the way to go on this...

Why would you track and post someone’s flight information in the first place?  I can only think of very nefarious reasons.

Seriously?  You think the guy was tweeting out the flight plans in hopes that someone would grab a stinger missile and shoot down Musk's plane?

You don't think the more believable reason is that they guy is just a d1ck and wants to piss off the richest man in the world to prove a point?

To catch them being a hypocrit.   Project Veritas is notable for using this tactic, and it is rather effective....so much so that they are reviled by the leftists, and the Dems send their DOJ brown shirts after them too.....

The powerful want to present you one image, while the reality is another, this is how you show it....to their dismay.....

I'm kinda glad I was busy yesterday and missed all of Tim's centrist takes on this; it was easier to read in one sad lump.

I have learned however that if a man acts to protect his family before instituting a corporate-wide policy, he is a hypocrite.  So that's good to know, I think.

I wonder if Saint Obama the Only was a hypocrite for thinking marriage was between a man or a woman, or not closing Gitmo.  :dunno:

There are certainly non-nefarious reasons, such as trying to get a selfie or something.  I believe people have also used the data to point out the gas usage or something considering he owns an electric car company, which of course isn’t flattering for Musk but isn’t really “nefarious.”

And Sweeney was (past tense I assume) a fan of Musk’s.  He had countered Musk’s initial offer of $5k to shut down the account with $50k, saying maybe he’d buy a Tesla with it and that he hoped to work for one of Musk’s companies in the future.

Pointing out that someone specifically said they wouldn’t do something (in spite of the acknowledged security risk), but does it anyway is a hypocrite, is absolutely a centrist take.  I’m sorry you all can’t see that through your red glasses.

Cultists will do anything to defend their side.  It's so sad.

Any honest, rational person can see that Musk is being a douche.  It's OK to admit it guys.

Hold on, is it the policy of twitter to punish those who publish the locations of account-holders?

It is now, yes.  So I guess that means if I tweet out that I saw you at CVS today, then I get banned?

Musk certainly is a douche.  I get it's stalkerish and creepy, but who cares if someone tracks his plane on Twitter.  People who are motivated to do him or his family harm would be able to readily find that info elsewhere.

🤔  I need to think about this one.  I might be able to get behind this. Notably if one is a prominent person.

Ask that question the next time someone posts so and so took a private plane to a climate conference.

Tim pointed out that Elon banned the elonjet tracker the same day as instituting the policy and banning the others, but he banned his first, so he is a HIPPOCRITTTT%$#@!

Or, something happened which endangered his kid, and his new life experience caused him to change his mind.

What my red glasses see is you being roughly, hmm, carry the one... 100% looking for big gotchas with Musk since he bought Twitter.  Plus or minus 0.0%.  Centrist.

Dude, he's a hypocrite because he said that he believes in free speech and would never ban the elonjet account, then he banned it, and he banned a bunch of journalists for commenting on the banning.

Also, new life experience?  Dude's got 10 kids.  The location of his private jet has been known forever, but someone tweets it and now he's scared?  Come on man.

Musk had a PIA, meaning his information was blocked, it was hacked and the real time tracking was posted

Musk allowed it, then his family was threatened and he decided to block all doxing

I’m not looking for them, but he’s just offering them up constantly.  I’ll put the most hypocritical aspects of this story in order of how hypocritical I think they are:

1. Specifically saying he wasn’t going to do something (and acknowledging the security risk), but doing it anyway.

2.  Saying he wants twitter to allow all “legal free speech” but then creating a policy that bans speech protected by the first amendment.

3. Banning the elonjets account, then updating the policy after the fact, despite the account not having tweeted anything since the policy update was made.  Banning the other accounts later is a minor tangential point to that, that was never my focus other than in proving that idiot @Strike wrong.

I honestly don’t have an issue with the journalists being suspended (although a permaban would certainly seem harsh IMO) if they posted the link to the elonjet account on other platforms, after the policy was changed. But I’d like to see it confirmed they all did that and not just link to a news article.  I’ll watch the Timcast video

No, you have the wrong information.

His Gulfstream jet, registered through an LLC he owns, could be seen having landed on Wednesday evening in Austin through an online tracker, ADS-B Exchange. On Thursday, it took off again in the afternoon local time heading northwest.

ADS-B is accessible to anyone online. The site makes use of flight information transmitted by federal law to show thousands of commercial and private aircraft flights all over the world. While Musk has recently begun to claim such tracking poses a security risk, ADS-B addresses that stance on its website.

"If aircraft do not want to be seen, (such as military aircraft on a mission) they can always turn their transponders 'off,'" the site says. "The position data shown by ADSBexchange is available to anyone who can spend $50 on Amazon and put the parts together. It's not secret. Air Traffic Control voice comms are not encrypted either, and contain similar (or more) information."

Musk banned all those accounts.  Not sure how you proved me wrong about anything.  Of course, you never have proven me wrong about anything so your track record is intact.  🤣

Dude, I said that he banned those accounts.  But he banned elonjets first, then changed the policy, then banned the others.

I have you admitting you were wrong to me at least once, and several other times that you won’t admit.
