Twitter adopts 'poison pill' to prevent Elon Musk takeover

let me know what misinformation Tim has spread mr CNN hack

Let's start with the matter at hand, saying that the Jet location data was hacked.  It is absolutely not hacked, it is public, as I described earlier.

again, when the PIA isn't private, if it is its supposed to be encrypted and requires a code to get real time tracking

I would say watch the video I posted, which I know you wont.  It explains it better than I could

also it goes over a lot more than just the jet

At 7:30 Tim admits the information was “technically” publicly available.

Even if it wasn’t, Elon would have known that already and still doesn’t explain him specifically saying he would not ban the account (acknowledging the security risk) but then doing it anyway.

There are certainly non-nefarious reasons, such as trying to get a selfie or something.  I believe people have also used the data to point out the gas usage or something considering he owns an electric car company, which of course isn’t flattering for Musk but isn’t really “nefarious.”

And Sweeney was (past tense I assume) a fan of Musk’s.  He had countered Musk’s initial offer of $5k to shut down the account with $50k, saying maybe he’d buy a Tesla with it and that he hoped to work for one of Musk’s companies in the future.

https://nypost.com/2022/01/27/elon-musk-offered-teen-5k-to-stop-tracking-his-jet-on-twitter/

So he's kind of using it as a bartering chip and/or blackmail?  That's not "nefarious"?

I have you admitting you were wrong to me at least once, and several other times that you won’t admit.

What exactly do you think you proved me wrong about?  Did I say he DIDN'T ban those accounts?

bro, PIA is the program, stands for privacy ICAO aircraft address program (https://www.faa.gov/air_traffic/technology/equipadsb/privacy)

The program allows for anon registration numbers to be issued every 60 days.  There is no encryption or codes.

Even with the PIA in place, he can still be tracked, just makes it harder.

2)  It's across the board.  The previous administration made up rules as they went along that benefited one side of the political spectrum.  Musk didn't say "you can't post tracking info about me but if you do about Nancy Pelosi that's fine."  He said you can't post it about ANYONE.  That's all any of us have ever asked for.  I've posted that previously in discussions about SM silencing people.  Be consistent and even handed with your policies.  Seems simple.

22 hours ago, TimHauck said:

He only did that after the fact to cover his ass, after banning elonjet but not the others.

22 hours ago, TimHauck said:

Here is the timeline:

1. Elon says he won’t ban elonjet

2. Lunatic confronts infant child (in a car, not a plane)

3. Elon bans elonjet but not other flight tracking accounts

4.  People on twitter call out Elon’s hypocrisy

5. Elon/twitter update policies to say that real-time location tracking won’t be allowed

6. Elon/Twitter bans other flight tracking accounts as well as Sweeney’s personal account, with no warning.  So, unless they made additional tracking tweets after the policy change, a lawyer could probably argue they were unjustly banned since their tweets were within the rules when they were posted

Lol you’re an idiot dude.  I said the other accounts were suspended now.  But he banned elonjet first, then changed the policy, then banned the others.

Care to admit you were wrong?

21 hours ago, Strike said:

And?  Both accounts are suspended.  Even handed and consistent, just like I asked.

21 hours ago, Strike said:

Why would I admit I'm wrong?  Just because he didn't ban a sh*tload of accounts all at once doesn't mean he wasn't going to ban them.  Seriously, what's wrong with you?  A smart person who cared would think this is a good policy and applaud it.  Quit being a tool.

21 hours ago, TimHauck said:

JFC.  You’re wrong.  He banned elonjet (and not the others) before updating the policy!

21 hours ago, Strike said:

So focking what?  I have no doubt it went down something like the following:

1)  Toolbag confronts his family.

2)  Light bulb goes on that maybe allowing people to post real time location information on Twitter could be bad.  He knows about an account that does that for him so he suspends it.

3)  Convenes his upper council at Twitter and crafts an updated policy based upon this new information.

4)  Tasks a team with identifying how many similar other accounts there are because Elon probably never bothered to see if there was a @TaylorSwiftjet Twitter account because why would he?

5)   Team comes back 12 hours later with a report of how many other similar accounts there are.

6)  Team, possibly with him joining, creates a query/rule to suspend all such accounts that they deem problematic.

This is a reasonable process that anyone with half a brain would see may take a little time.  Just like he promised to remove child porn but it took a little time to make the inroads he has and is ongoing.  You're so blinded with hatred for the man that you're missing common sense and how would a business approach such a thing.

Why you were wrong:

1) You said he was being “even-handed and consistent.  Except he wasn’t, because he banned elonjets first, then changed the policy, then banned the other flight tracking accounts.  As I’ve said elsewhere he also banned elonjets despite not making any tweets since after the policy changed.

2.  You said I thought the other flight accounts weren’t suspended.  Initially they weren’t (after elonjet was suspended but before the policy was changed), then they were (after the policy was changed), as I spelled out.  Check the time stamps.

I’m taking your last rant (key words: “so what?”) as an admission that you were wrong.

Ask that question the next time someone posts so and so took a private plane to a climate conference.

So let me get this straight... if I said Leonardo DiCaprio flew to a climate conference 5 days ago in a private jet, it's no different than if I said "right now, Leonardo DiCaprio is flying to "XYZ Private Airfield in Anytown, California", even though I have no idea if he's even on the jet, I just know it's his private jet?

ROFLMAO.  You think the above shows I was "wrong" about something?  He was even handed and consistent, just like I said.  That he didn't ban them all in one fell swoop doesn't change that.  As I noted in that thread, it takes a little time to formulate a policy, identify all those violating it, and then enact the policy on all those entities.  You're really reaching with this whole thing.  You should take a deep breath, calm down, and then just stop posting about it entirely.

Right, and instead of saying "ok, I'll take the $5k", he wanted 10x the amount and panders/trolls about buying a Tesla and working for him one day.  LOL.  That's not greedy, underhanded, nefarious...?  That's just "negotiation", right?

Where was all this energy the past five years when twitter was throwing elections, shadow banning people based on politics, rigging the system with zero transparency.

Even Jack Dorsey himself has publicly apologized for crying out loud.

"throwing elections"

Dorsey should have been more transparent, that's something that most if not all of us agree.  Dorsey never came out and said he'll never ban certain people, and then banned them along with anyone that commented on the banning.

Also no one here sucked Dorsey's d.  You wanna suck Elon's d, prepare to get mocked.  Sorry about your feelings.

No, he said he enjoys running the account and it was worth more than $5k to him.

And no, I don’t think it’s nefarious to ask for $50k for something the world’s richest man reached out to you directly with an intention to buy.  I bet if Elon just offered him a free Tesla he would’ve taken it.

Banning someone for violating a policy that doesn’t exist yet (and thus giving the user no chance to get in compliance with said policy) is not “even-handed.” HTH

The hypocrisy is.... well it's expected. I'm not surprised to see any of it from the side that accepts and promotes pedophiles. There is no winning. Even if half the pedo, I mean liberal journalists were banned overnight on Twitter, they would never learn a lesson about censorship. As soon as they got the chance, they would cheer for suspending people who disagree with them. Or no one is ever suspended and liberal journalists continue on like the entitled cuck puppets they are.

I do not believe any of these people should be suspended. Well the dude tracking Elons personal jet should have been, but we can all agree that is crossing a line.
