In the return to PD for another school year we went back over active shooter and intruder stuff. Surprisingly there was nothing in the training about rocks and how they have arms that can disengage locks.

 

The presenter did say this is truth despite what Jerkoff Jerry from New York thinks.

If the staff, including teachers, hadn’t had a culture of non compliance with safety measures lives could have been saved. As the report said , the non compliance directly led to fatalities.  Do what you’re told. And most importantly, don’t prop open doors.  It’s the worst thing you can do.

I guarantee you I care deeply about the safety of the students. I care about the problem being fixed. You have cared about laying this all at the teacher's feet when it is far more clear it was a faulty locking mechanism in this instance.

Yeah, the teachers and administrators really screwed this up by saying absolutely nothing about that none of the school's safety measures worked for months prior to this.
