I see peenie deleted her fake coffee story...

Yeah. She replied something to me about 30 minutes ago and when I looked just now the thread was gone. I wish I could have seen that reply to me.

That’s cause she got called out for fake racism. I’m not above calling out ACTUAL racism. Cause I really do hate it. But today, anyone that upsets a black person is racist according to them

Fake racism from black people makes more people racist against them naturally.

Some will never learn. Peenie will always be a racist race baiting looney. I'm convinced.

There was no racism. peenie admitted that she "gets into conflicts every day with white people". Her words.

It's best to move on from this one.

I would say that it isn't conclusive. i wouldn't rule it out yet either.

Maybe you are right and I am off on this. But to me, from seeing her words, she sounds more like a bltch that people don't like than a victim of constant racism.

It makes no sense that it was racism.  Atlanta has a large black population.  Do you think that this Barista/restaurant employee doesn't serve black people?  That wouldn't be possible and still be employed in Atlanta.  So, they singled Peenie out because she's black despite the fact that they serve other black people?  Not persuasive.

I never jumped in on it being racist, but from what she said, i wouldn't abandon it either.  The initial thread is gone, but my comment was that there could have been many reasons that she wasn't served, racism might have been one of them.

I've concluded my investigation. The ruling is as stands. Peenie is simply a bltch that people around her don't like. It has nothing to do with her race.

Well that’s not true either.

there is a chance that she might have done something during this interaction, but her history here leads me to believe she is generally a kind and polite individual

In all reality, I think she may be a bit manic depressive. The tone of her posts and the what she says she believes in them have been all over the map.

I bet this was not the first time she has been into that restaurant to get coffee. Indicated by that others from her work go there too for coffee. So I'm guessing she has been there many times actually. But for some reason now it comes up because she didn't like that this time she got a rebuke for whatever time she went there.

I remember waiting tables and bartending that I had a very low tolerance for some semi regulars who don't spend and had bad attitudes towards the employees. I would treat them fairly but never  go out of my way for them and condone their behavior. And it had nothing to do with race.

Maybe this one time peenie went in there and they had hired a new person who was racist, but the odds say, it's on her. If I was forced to bet on it.

Peenie isn't even a real person. You guys actually believe some random black woman who knows fock all about sports (or anything else for that matter) ended up here?

I never said you did.  But I bet if that happened to you and the person behind the counter was black, you wouldn't be thinking to yourself "That might have been racism."  And I bet if Peenie hadn't planted a bunch of seeds in her post you probably wouldn't even have thought that about this situation.  But that's what Peenie does.  Daily.  It must suck going through life looking at every situation through that lens.

If a black person is behind the counter, it's business as usual.

I guess it depends on your definition of racism.  I wouldn't use the word racism but I think there is a lot of prejudice out there.  There always will be. A coal miner from a small town in West Virginia is just going to have a different world view than a banker from San Francisco.  That will create different perceptions from each of those people that manifests itself in prejudices.  The same thing for people who grow up in a neighborhood with mostly people of the same race.   But I bet MLK would have a smile on his face if he knew the things people like Peenie consider racism compared to the racism he was fighting against.  There will always be some prejudice out there.  And whether you want to admit it or not, you have your own prejudices.  Chances are they're minor and you'd never treat someone different because of them, but they exist.

I truly don’t believe racism is as prevalent as they’re trying to say. Actual, true racism. I’d be willing to wager there’s more blacks that are racist than there are whites. One of the main reasons is they have plenty of ignorant ppl who think since they’re black they can’t be racist so they can say whatever they want

are you kidding? A black person with a job?

You know what a lot of people don't understand about history is that back in the day, the Virginia colonies offered salaries and benefits and 401K plans and company cars even before they invented the car, and still they didn't want to work.

So then we invented slavery. It really wasn't our fault.

I see prejudice as the broader scope, with racism being a specific derivative of it.  I do not believe MLK would condone differential treat based on one's color. while she was not lynched, not receiving service while others are could certainly be an instance of racism (again, i am not saying this occurred for peenie).

Sure, it could.  And the same could happen to a white person.  I used to take a shortcut through Compton when driving from the Valley to Orange County during rush hour.  Trust me, I knew I was the outlier there.  Anyone thinking we will get rid of prejudice, with all it's derivatives, is living in a dream world.  I acknowledge that reality, and I'm sure at times of my life I've been treated differently for various reasons.  Going through life looking for it is a sad way to go through life.  That's my point.

I don't think we can remove all biases, but we should certainly strive to improve behavior....all of us.

I think they have been given cause to be vigilant for it, as in some cases it has been deadly.

I agree we should always strive to be better.  At this point we have laws that prevent discrimination on the basis of race.  At this point it's an individual issue.

Regarding your 2nd statement, the stats don't bear this out.  I mean, it happens, but it's statistically insignificant to the point that anyone worrying about it outside specific neighborhoods such as me going through Compton is being irrational.  Black on Black violence is a hell of a lot more prevalent than non black on black crime.  Astronomically worse.

I didn’t read much after her first post.

Based on the story, it probably wasn’t racism as to why she wasn’t served.

But, it very well could have been an example of white privilege as to why her coworkers were.

No, she has been around here a long time. We teamed up for a Curly-Geek fantasy league in the early 2000s. I probably even mailed a "Shark Dance" CD to her in, if I remember correctly, Atlanta. I think she was in Guess the Geek. I remember what she looked like back then.

You paranoid fruitcakes are so quick to create and jump on conspiracy theories.

I wasn't around much in the 20teens, so I can't speak of anything she posted during that time period. Maybe her handle got hijacked along the way.

She has always seemed nice to me, and I've never had a problem with her.

You clowns are mean to her because so many here are racists and she posts things you don't want to see, but that's not surprising.

i like peenie but have to admit some of the threads are a reach and seem designed to get a rise out of most posters here.  the coffee story was a great example, having only read the initial post she doesn't claim racism but obviously thats what shes hinting at. I think she gets her reactions and then deletes the threads. story might have even been made up

She didn't like that the mayor thread was resurrected to talk about the stabbing attack and riots in the last day or two.
