Biden threatens oil companies with 'emergency powers' if they don't boost supply amid inflation spike

Really stupid on Biden's part to give Exxon a high profile platform to remind everyone that they lost $20 Billion 2 years ago.

When.you blindly start blaming others for the outcome from the actions you took, not everyone is just going to sit back and take it.

What can Putin say? Trump doesn't care what biden says. He's just sitting back watching the insanity and thinking, "I told you so." Exxon on the other hand has reason to fight back and set the record straight.

biden hss a habit of saying things before he knows anything about what he's talking about. "Rittenhouse is a white suprmacist." "Border agents were whipping migrants and will be severely punished for it." Now this.

I saw this.  It is amazing how often Biden just makes sh!t up.  Under Trump people on this board lost their focking minds every time Trump made up something.  Biden makes of crap not a damn word.

C'mon man!!!  Countless American lives were shattered when Trump tweeted "covfefe" (or whatever)!!!

That's the liberal version of the knights that say "ni".

The Trump that says "covfefe".

It's amazing how absolutely everything he gets involved with takes a severe turn for the worse. His record is 100% terrible. And he is going to keep spending.

I will never predict a sweeping victory for the republicans in November because I know how crooked the left can be, and they are skilled at it, but we better have a big showing or 2.5 more years of biden with the majority liberals in government will kill this country.

The guy is a clown.  During the run up to the election he tells everyone he is going after the energy companies, then his first actions upon entering office is to employ actions that would pointedly impact supply.  Then he pretends higher prices are not happening, then he pretends its not that bad, then he pretends it was not going to be an issue for long.  Then he says he wants higher prices, that its a good thing and people need to appreciate the pressure to move away from fossil fuels...

Then people get pissed, so he blames Putin, and then oil companies, and then begs nations around the world to produce more oil.....

I mean, clown move after clown move.....

He also kept his promises regarding picking a black woman for VP (that has been an absolute joke of a failure) as well as appointing a black woman (that can't define what a woman is) to the SC.

Well done Joe!

I like how she says these oil companies should simply spend all their money to switch to being "clean energy" companies.

That's right up there with Biden telling miners they should simply learn to code.

What I saw was an admission that they understand they need the steady flow today, but they still need to pander to the climate hoax cadre, so she throws them a bone too.

At least the "journalist" made some attempt to call out the hy[hypocrisy

That focking broad did nothing positive for the state of Michigan during her leadership.   During her reign we were gonna become a destination for software companies, the movie industry, green energy companies, and the health care industry.  None of which happened, in case you wondered.

Who couldn't see this coming? They have no real world experience. Their "solutions" only work on paper. In practice they make everything worse.

Green energy is akin to when Kramer and Newman tried to bring recyclable cans and bottles from NY, that had a five cent deposit, to Michigan, that had a ten cent deposit. They realized it wouldn’t work because shipping them would wipe out their profit margin.  Then they got the government to basically subsidize it, with using a Mail truck. That only made things worse.

This is why the government never spells out the plan when they want approval on massive bills. First they don't say how the bill will be played out, step by step, then they don't say everything that's in the bill.

I would think that if they really wanted the American citizens to be onboard with all the spending, they would fill in the details of HOW it will all work.

Let's see this 6  trillion dollar plan:

Step 1: What is the quality and technology in the current day and who will be making these cars fast enough to supply them all to the American citizens within the next 5-10 years? Where will that company get all the rare earth materials to build them so people who make the average income in this country can afford them without putting them in debt?

Step 2: People today who don't make big money buy used cars so they can get around on their budget? How is the government going to get brand new cars to over half the nation who can't afford them? Who's paying for that?

Step 3: Infrastructure to support. How and when is that going to be in place and ready to go without negatively impacting current electric infrastructure in places that already have black outs in summers and such. NY and CA come to mind. Plus, who is creating all this extra electricity that will be needed and how "clean energy" with that be?

Step 4: Let's just say all the infrastructure is solid and in place and everyone who drives has a shiny new EV. What are you going to do with the old cars and who's going to do it?

Step 5: How are you going to train up mechanics to service these vehicles? It's just going to happen overnight? And what will happen to all the current mechanics who have shops and materials set up to service our current day vehicles?

Step 6: What will happen to the huge batteries over time when the EVs life span is over?

Step 7: How are you going to install chargers in all the homes and apartment building garages all of a sudden. And it being ALL self reliant from plan, to build, to distribute to maintain.

Fock... the list is endless...

These turds in D.C. just want to spend and have us trust them while our nation goes broke.

Why don't they explain where and what and when all the money will be utilized and see if the people buy into to reality of it all?

I mean, really explain it like they can prove it will all work with no open concerns and all parties in the plan represented and speaking to it.  None of them can do it. There is no plan. biden just loves spending.

Apparently, we are all going to be driving electric.

Lets ignore the fact that our power grid is already sketchy.

And of course. Let's ignore the fact that, since nuclear is a non starter in this country, much of the electricity that powers your tesla is generated by burning fossil fuel somewhere else, and then that power is inefficiently transmitted to you.

Yep. No explainations on how this is all going to work from step 1 of the process. But biden wants to invest up to 6 trillion into.....something.

biden associates success with spending. Not results.

I forgot to mention the whole issue of where we get the necessary rare earth metals to make a couple of hundred million electric vehicles.

Even if a flawless brilliant plan was presented, it would take 25 to 30 years and a shltload of money to carry out. And since the government doesn't want to relinquish control to the private sector, they would bankrupt the country.
