Bills essentially surrendered the top seed to the Chiefs whom they hold the tiebreaker over.  Chiefs are the only team that can and will reach 14 wins.  Serves them right. They were going to get stomped by the Bengals anyway.

The bills have beat the chiefs 2 of the last 3 times they played in arrowhead.

Hopefully the owners meetings this offseason can come up with a rule to prevent this in the future. It does not matter if your entire team dies - finish the game or forfeit.

I understand the Bengals started well.  But just to assume they go onto stomp them is a bit much.  Betting would be simple in game if that were the case.  Just say they finish that drive and go up 14-3. Bills marched on their 1st drive easily but stalled out near the endzone.  Bills were getting ball at half.  You double dip at end of half and you are right in it if not leading.

You would have thought that with all of the natural disasters and threats of terrorism for the last 20 years the NFL would have had a protocol for finishing a game that couldn’t be completed once it started due to unforeseen circumstances.

However, the one that’s sticking out the most is a possible expansion in the postseason, allowing eight teams from the NFC and AFC to make the playoffs. “One possibility would be to add an eighth team to the playoff field in the AFC. This would eliminate the bye for the No. 1 seed. To ensure competitive balance, there would have to be eight teams in the NFC, too.”

That’s certainly one way to handle things. If the NFL goes this route then the first-round bye for the number one seed becomes nill. At least that team would maintain a home-field advantage.

Of course, this isn’t the only option being presented by the NFL right now. Other possible solutions are using winning percentage instead of record to determine playoff order or making the AFC Championship game played at a neutral site. As Pro Football Talk points out, “a team other than the Bills, Chiefs, or Bengals qualifies for the game, there’s no need to use a neutral site.”

in the NFC, Seahawks are 7 and Lions are 8, both get in.

We'd also have teams currently eliminated getting revived.  Possibly the Browns, Jets, Saints and Redskins all having a shot again.

Patrick Mahomes has played 11 playoff games, none of the road.  And the Chiefs are set to clinch HFA yet again, meaning no road playoff games.  He has only played in home playoffs games and playoff games at neutral sites.

Jamaal Williams was crying in the post game interview.  Although I guess he's a disgusting piece of sh¡t since he said his great grandfather died.  Not sure how he and his teammates were able to think about football much less play so well after someone died.
