The article was about times Trump was soft on Russia in 2019(when the article was written-updated in mid 2020). Intelligence suggested Russia paid bounties, he went against US intelligence and said it was fake(with no proof other than Putin denial).  That he turned out to be right, doesn't change the fact that he sided with Russia over his own intelligence agencies. 

So you aren't saying they lied anymore, but are complaining that CNN hasn't gone back to a 2019-2020 article and given an update..."hey, even thought Trump turned his back on US Intelligence Agencies, he got this right for no other reason than dumb luck".  Your statement that they lied off the bat was wrong.  EOS.

So in other words.  Obama did good and it got Crimea taken.

Trump did bad which led to not much of anything for 4 years in that area other than ongoing breakaway rebel type fighting.

Did Putin invade any neighboring countries when Trump was in power from January 2017 to January 2021? (Answer: No.) 

Did Putin annex any neighboring countries when President Obama was in power prior to Trump? (Answer: Yes — Putin annexed Crimea in 2014.)

Shlt like that happens every day across the globe. Nobody is stopping that type of violence.
