Last of Us. - A lot too woke with the Bill and Frank

Hinted at in the video game. Fine, whatever. Bill had a "partner" he cared about. 

TV show. Woke.

They even changed the story history to fit in the woke.

I did understand the director's comments on how they are approaching things in the shows vs. the video game. He said, if the direction they are going in is better than the video game storyline (in their opinions of course) for that sub plot of the overall picture, then they will go with it, if it's not, they will stick with the game storyline as it played out.

It was quite the departure, and altogether not a big deal change of events that would impact, one way or another, the overall story outcome, but boy did they feel the need to get the gay love story in. At least it was well written and completed in one week.

So funny. My girlfriend had to get to bed early because of a super early meeting this morning so she mentioned she would check it out later. The game wasn't her type of thing and the show kind of makes her a bit tense about the monsters attacking and shlt. I told her this morning she should watch this episode and that she would like it. She said, "Oh, chick flick episode?" I said "yep." She replied, "Awesome. Will watch it tonight."

The upcoming preview for next week looks like they start it out just like the next encounter in the game. So there's that. 

I've been replaying the game for a 5th time to keep up with the scenes in the shows. You kind of have to stay ahead in the game because the show doesn't have all the fighting scenes the game has.

Best video game of all time. Right up there with Half Life back in the day.

To clarify: he hung himself after getting bit while trying to leave the town and Bill.  Not because of old age / cancer (or whatever).

Haven’t watched the show yet. But whining about woke seems to be the big thing these days. It’s really too bad some people are so uncomfortable with a more accepting society.

Accepting is different than being force fed garbage.

LGBTQ make up 10% of the country (supposedly) but they are in 100% of the shows (with trans making up like 0.004%).  It's not even representative.  If an alien came down to earth and watched nothing but USA media garbage they would leave convinced everyone was gay or mentally ill (trans).  Now there is a trans in every show too yet they only make up 0.004% of the population.

My only issue is they drastically changed the relationship between Bill and Frank from the source material.

In the game Frank's suicide note stated:

Well, Bill, I doubt you'd ever find this note cause you were too scared to ever make it to this part of town. But if for some reason you did, I want you to know I hated your guts. I grew tired of this sh1tty town and your set-in-your-ways attitude. I wanted more from life than this and you could never get that.

I don't see how it was woke at all?  I would agree with you if Bill was straight in the game but made him gay for the show.  He's gay in both so they're not going woke with anything, just giving a different back story.  I don't think it really adds or takes away from the show.

It's to the point that any lgbtq people = woke for some people.   They are trying to extrapolate hours of story from a video game, and like you said- the character was gay in the game.  

People like craft are exactly like the people they loathe on the left- looking to be upset and worked up over little things.  I guess if you look for it all day and like him (based on his lovely threads he starts ) get it shoved down your throat by your media it gets to be too much.  

A lot of gays and sexualizing minors on HBO, gents! Might as well cancel those subscriptions!!

I tried watching a comedy on Netflix about the last Blockbuster and wasn't bad but 3rd EP in they have these two teenage boys making out in the one room. I don't want to see that sh!t and that show was dead to me after that.  I can somewhat understand if the show is about gays and won't watch from the get go. But C'mon Hollywood got to put there lib agenda in almost every new show that comes out.

Extrapolate character backstory is 100% fine.  Changing the outcome from one character growing to despise the other into a heart warming kumbaya tear jerking dual suicide ending is the problem that I have with the episode. 

The sexuality of the couple has nothing to do with it.

I think everyone gets it that you are gay. You don't need to keep pushing the point so much. And I doubt anyone cares about your sexual preference, they just prefer to not watch you and your boyfriend have sex on television..

I thought the backstory was much better than the basic backstory that was in the game.  I could have done without all the intimate scenes but I feel that way about all intimate scenes, they're too slow and take away from the main story for me.  I usually fast forward through them.

Have you ever as a 14-15 year old teen watched a movie at home with your parents and the unexpected intimate scene goes on for just a bit too long? I watched this episode alone and got that feeling all over again. Just uncomfortable as hell waiting for it to stop.

Plenty of times, with gay and straight scenes.  I have never cared for them.  To me that was the only bad thing about this episode and I would have said the same if it was a straight couple.  The rest of the episode was very well done though.

Did anyone watched the latest episode.  It was pretty good and very similar to the video game.  I'm really enjoying this series so far, just wish I didn't have to wait each week for a new episode.
