Very nice.  Walleye were ravenous, just a bit of overcast to keep the sun from being too intense, and on the way in in was temporarily blocked by a high school cheerleader team.  They were taking some sort of group photo for their yearbook.  They were in bikinis on paddleboards.  Some were frolicking, a bit. My thoughts did not turn to Bud Light at all during the day.  I'll have the fillets on the grill in a few hours along with some asparagus wrapped in bacon and a side of Uncle Ben's Long Grain and Wild Rice.

I grew up on water.  I miss it. Here in Colorado it is scarce.  I try to interest my wife in moving to Arkansas or the Carolinas for a place on water. She has no interest so I drive it in the  mornings.

Infusion Vanilla Bean Blonde Ale, a popular local brewery here, they sell it at Hy-Vee now and it's in most bars.  I prefer Crown Royal and Coke to beer.  I think Blue Moon is ok and will drink it occasionally as well as Leinenkugel Summer Shandy.

Ah yes, the Summer Shandy, the most revered of craft brew.

Bud Light does suck, but US craft beer is some of the best in the world.

I was on a train from Dublin to Galway and I had a few Carlsbergs. Delicious. Another time in London drinking at the Hotel they had Carling Black Label on tap. That’s a beer I would never have considered in the states. Gave it a shot and it was awesome. Then there  were the Amstel Bars and the Heineken bars in Amsterdam. Served in small glasses. Awesome. And then there was San Miguel in the Philippines and Presidente’ in the Dominican Republic. A few of my more memorable beers.

Got pretty banged up on Hoegaarden  in Brussels. Didn’t like it at first but I powered through.  Down in Cork they tried to say that Murphy’s stout was as good as or better than Guinness. It’s not. Drank Harp in Dundalk. Delicious.

I've only gone kayaking a couple of times on Lake Union to Lake Washington in Seattle.  Was a great time. There is no shortage of water around us, but we're not close enough that I want to invest in a kayak and roof rack.

Currently we live about 3.5 hrs from our place on the coast.  Not too bad, but the traffic between our house and Tacoma can sometimes inflate that commute to 5 or more hours.

Planning to find a place near Olympia as there are a ton of lakes and inlets, it's close enough to good health care, and shortens the drive to the coast to just 1.5 hrs or so.

For some reason, they had tons of Natural Light. I bought Busch Light. I mean, you gotta draw the line somewhere.

Dogfish head is based in Delaware.  There is a mixed drink popular among the beach towns there called a Crush, all different flavors but think vodka, fruit juice and soda.

Dogfish was once an upper class brewpub but the past 10 years has been overshadowed by more successful craft brewers in the region.

Didn't know they were making crush drinks but it makes sense as they try and stay relevant with a spin on a local favorite.

Dogfish was my go to for some time....some time ago.  But was replaced by Loose Cannon from Heavy Seas and Bell's Two Hearted. That being said we have a strong local craft industry and much of is just stellar.

Every time I am out I hear people ordering those Orange Crushes. In fact we took the camper out near OC and there was a guy who built a table just to make them, with the orange crushing apparatus and everything....he took it rather seriously.

So they have been struggling for a while?  I have never heard of this. They clearly don't advertise it? Then again, I don't drink BL unless it's at a bar or restaurant.

No, they have been doing this while being #1 selling beer.  Rebates are a good marketing technique.  Poor people and the unmotivated see the rebate sign, and are like "Oh, free beer", then they pay $20 for the beer, get the rebate card, lose the rebate card, lose the receipt, never send it in, etc"

Boycotts would be easy enough for me to honor as seemingly there are always options, equivilent products.  I am not necessariy that brand loyal.  Of course there are exceptions to every rule.  i would not willingly boycott WD-40, Tobasco Sauce, original Duct Tape, or Lawreys Seasoned Salt.

I started a boycott the past year on a local restaurant group.  The owner sold out to another restaurateur, who's places I didn't care for, and this new guy came in and changed everything for the worse, and then fired a bunch of people I knew and treated everyone like a d1ck.  He then closed the burger and ice cream place my daughter worked at.  So fock this guy, and boycott his restaurants.

Didn’t know that AB’s CEO was a Marine Corps officer in Iraq. I also learned that they made ONE can for Mulvaney. For that, AB employees have been receiving bomb threats.
