The Challenges to America’s National Identity,” the late political scientist Samuel P. Huntington fretted over how Mexican immigration was changing the “Anglo-Protestant mainstream culture” of the United States. He worried that Mexican immigrants weren’t assimilating as earlier European immigrants had done. “The criteria that can be used to gauge assimilation of an individual, a group, or a generation include language, education, occupation and income, citizenship, intermarriage and identity,” he wrote. Huntington believed that the descendants of Mexican immigrants weren’t hitting these markers, but he was wrong. They assimilated like others did. They learned English, intermarried, became loyal Americans, and adopted American politics, including its most extreme and violent forms....

It is a confusing set of ideas that nevertheless has a long history among Latinos, in part because the category “Latino” itself has been fiercely contested—with some arguing, for example, that it should be classified as a race rather than an ethnicity....

....Scholars and journalists have described these Latino white supremacists in different ways. Some Latinos, they’ve argued, are also afflicted by “aspirational whiteness,” or the desire to be white in order to fit into the racial and capitalist order of the United States, to avoid the discrimination that Black Americans experience, ..... They ascribe to “multiracial whiteness,” which the political scientist Cristina Beltrán defines as an identity that people from all racial backgrounds can participate in. It is rooted, she writes, “in a discriminatory world view in which feelings of freedom and belonging are produced through the persecution and dehumanization of others.” Such concepts help to explain how, in a country with rising racial violence, Latinos can be .... potential perpetrators.....

....Many Latinos, like other Americans, have responded to their sense of victimhood by buying weapons. ..... As the coronavirus pandemic spread across the country, Latinos reported fears of violent crimes; this was again followed by a spike in gun purchases by Latinos. A survey conducted by the National Shooting Sports Foundation, the trade association for the firearms industry, found that Latinos purchased guns at a forty-nine-per-cent higher rate in 2020 than in 2019. It also found that forty per cent of gun retailers reported an increase in sales to Latinos in 2021.....

We live in a country where everyone from university deans to corporate executives extolls the virtues of assimilation and diversity, but the growing diversity of gun owners who inflict mass death should cause us to rethink inclusion’s underlying assumptions. So, too, should Latino white-supremacist thinking—another marker of Latino assimilation at a time when white-power ideology is spreading rapidly at home and abroad. Expressing surprise or disbelief at the fact that Latino white-supremacist shooters exist marks them as outsiders, as many Latinos before them have been marked....

Biden migrant crisis to cost NYC $4.2B, more than twice what mayor warned

....The Biden administration’s spiraling migrant crisis could cost New York City taxpayers $4.2 billion by the middle of next year — more than doubling Mayor Eric Adams’ recent worst-case scenario. The staggering sums to be spent through June 30, 2024 — the end of fiscal 2024 — are referenced in an internal City Hall memo obtained by The Post on Tuesday.

In it, the Office of Management and Budget said Gov. Kathy Hochul’s plan to give the city $1 billion in migrant aid over two years would cover less than 30% of shelter costs. The OMB also warned that the record $227 billion budget plan Hochul unveiled last week would slash overall state aid to the city by $461 million in fiscal 2024 — and by $1.34 billion in fiscal ’25. But Adams’ record $102.7 billion budget proposal for fiscal 2024 didn’t include any specific spending on the migrant crisis, prompting state Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli to criticize the mayor for failing to account for “the anticipated recurring costs.”

Under Hochul’s plan, the cost of the migrant crisis would be evenly split three ways between the city, the state and the federal government — which has so far allocated less than $8 million of the $1 billion Adams is seeking from President Biden’s administration....More than 44,700 migrants have flooded into the city since the spring, with more than 28,800 housed in 88 emergency shelters, according to the latest official estimates.

We don't know the background of many of them, many are coming over unvaccinated, some are on the actual US Terror Watch List, nearly all have no practical job skills to immediately contribute to the general productivity and tax base of these beleaguered cities, and a fair question exists if this is becoming a widespread self inflicted humanitarian crisis on a nation already savaged by the pandemic and massive inflation. 

So here's the big question? 

If there's a clear pathway, according to the New Yorker, for this new version of "White Supremacy", then why have Team Blue public policy that lets in an astronomical number, in the millions while funded by actual taxpayer dollars, of a new "feeder system" to support this embryo and apparently realized biggest threat of "White Supremacy"?

.....An investigation by the Washington State Office of Financial Management has shed more light on what Gov. Jay Inslee called "problems" with the first director of the Office of Equity's tenure. Dr. Karen Johnson was terminated by the state earlier this month as the director of the state's Office of Equity (OOE), a position she had held since March 2021.....made inappropriate or insensitive comments to some staff members and publicly criticized some staff members regarding issues unrelated to protected classes.

Investigators also found "credible examples" of Johnson making inappropriate comments about the personal appearances of staff and their bodies, as well as "comments about a staff person’s ethnicity, race, and/or veteran status."...Seven of 11 current and former members of Johnson's staff raised concerns regarding her workplace conduct....According to the investigation, the OOE had an overall attrition rate of 29% since it was created in March 2021. Five employees resigned between 2022 and 2023, and all of them cited Johnson's "chaotic, overburdened, and disrespectful workplace culture."

Among the concerns detailed in the report were employees were expected to respond to communication from Johnson within 10 minutes of her contacting them, even on weekends, holidays and evenings....Examples of gender bias included telling two individuals to wear makeup, telling a white individual she couldn't wear her hair in a braid because it was cultural appropriation, and commenting on an individual's weight, asking "You want to be married and have a family, don’t you?......”

The US is the least racist country in the world.  We also happen to be by far the most integrated and diverse country in the world, which leads to racial conflicts.   Most every other country have very little diversity, but they have much more deeply held racist views towards others.

Reporters have uncovered a lengthy social-media trail testifying to Garcia’s racist and misogynist beliefs, and Texas authorities have described him as expressing “neo-Nazi ideation.” The initial reports in the aftermath of a mass shooting are often confusing and contradictory, and there’s nothing wrong with treating them with a little healthy skepticism. But the idea of a Hispanic person adhering to white-nationalist ideology is hardly ridiculous. The rest of the world does not conform to domestic American understandings of race, because race is an ideological concept, not a scientific one. Just because people classify you as one thing in America doesn’t mean they see you the same way everywhere else.

And other people respond to racism by saying, Yeah, I’m one of the superior races.” Indeed, two of the most prominent Hitler admirers in America are Kanye West and a guy with the surname Fuentes. America is nothing if not a land of opportunity.

We’re actually brown, and we always have been brown. And we’ve been brainwashed, brainwashed ourselves into thinking we’re white, but actually, we’re brown, and we’re brown in a way that makes us similar to African Americans.”
