When did we ever get a heat day ? No wonder this new generation are whimps, they are babied by adults to much.  it's only 90!!!

Happens with our schools every year. Happened 4 days already with my kid’s schools this year. They don’t have AC and it’s over 90 in the classrooms.

The majority of the school year is during cooler months. When most of our schools were built they did put in AC. Very common around here.

Amwrican schools can't afford basic supplies or to pay teachers a decent wage.  Or to keep art/music programs.  Or , well you get it.

There are a lot of families around where I live. It was 93 degrees yesterday and plenty of kids were out playing.

Many of the schools that were built in the 60's/70's haven't been retrofitted with HVAC yet.  They still have the original boiler systems for heat and no air conditioning.

It'd be nice if Uncle Sam could throw some of that Ukraine money towards those schools/towns.

You know a lot of those kids are going to stay inside and watch TV or play video games.  Also, it's much more comfortable outside where there can be a breeze compared to stuffy classrooms.  It's hard enough to keep kid's attention in class then you add in the extreme heat.

Maybe 2.  Usually at the beginning of the school year.  We always started school in August and there are usually some pretty hot days those first few weeks.  This year was the worst I've seen for the start of the school year.  Usually there's only a day or two they let out early for heat.

Never once for me. I live in an almost obnoxiously active community. The adults set the examples for the kids and they are out daily walking or biking or running up and down the streets daily year round. I'm often out as well.

I guess kids learn from the adults.

I'm not sure why you are relating this to being active.  It has nothing to do with that. It's about kids not being in a good learning environment when their classroom is over 90 degrees, has no AC and some don't even have windows.

I agree with you.  I remember my summers being like this a lot when I was a kid.  We've been in a terrible drought this summer and our lawn has been pretty brown.  I remember playing outside and the yard being similar.

It's why the alarmists changed up their terms from "global warming" to "climate change". They couldn't deny their global cooling freakout in 1978. 

Climate change is generic enough to make up all kinds of reasons why we get bad weather. Rather than the Earth is just doing what's it's always been doing.

I'm getting real sick of this "Take some of that Ukraine money and spend it on <insert other cause here>" BS.

The truth is the money sent to Ukraine, whether you agree with it or not, is very very small compared to other spending.  You can easily say "Take the military money, or take the big oil subsidies, or billionaire tax cuts, etc, all of which are much much bigger than Ukraine aid.  But you never hear that, because it's not about <insert other cause here>, they just don't want aid going to Ukraine because of Biden.

Kids have also been getting released from school early because of heat for decades.  I don't know why you have such an issue with this.  It's not something new.

Not in my schools when I went nor my kid's schools. And it hit 95 yesterday here and schools were not let out early.
