I completely reject your assertions, the last sentence most vehemently. It's unfortunate that because I can't stomach Trump I'm then told by those that know nothing about me what I think. Little of which is true. That which is, I will happily admit. To be fair, a lot of times you can tell what people think by what they write. I don't get why everyone thinks they're so much more complex and unique than everyone else. The whole Cambridge analytics thing, Facebook, AI, etc. is based on the fact that it's pretty easy to extrapolate beliefs based on a few data points.
nobody 2,667 Posted January 31, 2024 I remember a story about 15 years ago, before stores and marketing were as sophisticated as it is today. Target was sending pregnancy ads to some family's house addressed to the teenage daughter. The father got all pissed and went to target to complain that they were marketing pregnancy stuff to his teen. Turns out they knew she was pregnant because she bought like a certain bag and some lotion or some shìt. Then target started burying the targeted ads in with other stuff so it didn't look as creepy. Moral of the story is it's pretty easy to figure out people from a few data points.

Politics and personal philosophy in general cannot and should not be measured in the same manner. You can make inferences about which party someone will vote for with limited data points. But that doesn't tell you what their beliefs are.

Well, as everyone here knows, there's not much that's unique or complex about me, so your snide evaluation doesn't hold water. I'll ask you this: how many people are actually in complete lockstep with their religion, political party, favored candidate or organization on every issue? I would hope and expect that answer to be a miniscule percentage.

Dizkneelande 1,097 Posted March 30, 2024 Matt Taibbi was asked "why doesn't he pay much attention to the sins (or threats) from "the right"?" He gave a great answer: Why I don’t spend a lot of time on the Republicans: 1) There is a enormous army of MSM reporters already going after them from every angle, with most major news organizations little more than proxies for the DNC, to the point where stations hire Biden spokespeople as anchors; 2) The Republicans have very little institutional power nationally. It’s not their point of view prevailing in schools, on campuses, in newsrooms (where over 90% of working reporters vote blue), and especially in the intelligence and military apparatus, which has openly aligned itself with Democrats. Even if Donald Trump were a “threat to Democracy” he lacks the institutional pull to do much damage, which can’t be said of Democrats; 3) The Democrats’ ambitions are significantly more dangerous than those of the Republicans. From digital surveillance to censorship to making Intel and enforcement agencies central players in domestic governance — all plans being executed globally as well as in our one country — they are thinking on a much bigger and more dangerous scale than Republicans. I lived in third world countries and the endless criminal indictments of people like Trump and ongoing lawfare efforts to prevent even third party challenges are classic authoritarian symptoms. The Republicans aren’t near this kind of capability; 4) Last and most important, the Democrats are being organized around a more potent but also much dumber, more cultlike ideology. People like Yuval Harari and his Transhumanist “divinity” concept scare me a lot more than the Rs, and I was once undercover in an apocalyptic church in Texas. Ask your average Russian or Cuban what overempowered pseudo-intellectuals are capable of. I have a pretty good record of picking dangerous phenomena ahead of time. I feel confident on this one, and that’s before we get to the demographic/class shifts in the parties.

CIA infiltrating media to control the propaganda of MSM, assassinating foreign (and domestic) leaders, starting proxies wars to benefit our corporations, monitoring social media and enlisting tech giants to do their censoring for them. Court system is largely a rubber stamp for big government abuses. Instead if protecting citizens they have grown a strong bias towards supporting the expansion of government powers way beyond what the constitution allows and rarely holds the federal government accountable. Education institutions have also been infiltrated by CIA and has created a system where only far-left authoritarians are put in positions of power and those believing in individual freedoms have been purged from the system. The banking institutions have stolen the right of the government to print real money and instead created a monetary system that requires debt to private institutions enslaving the people to forever be chasing a forever growing mountain of debt that is literally impossible to ever reduce. That's a lot of words to just admit that I'm right. In the scrambled hash that you call your brain, are there any solutions to these overwhelming problems? You're claiming that horrific abuses are being perpetrated on the American people by literally every single institution upon which this country depends for normal daily life. I don't disagree with you about that, I just don't take it to the lengths you do. How do we the people free ourselves from this yoke of tyranny? Tearing it all down is not a realistic solution. Neither is rolling over and letting Trump become the grand wizard by firing government employees and replacing them with political appointments, as he has proposed.
