Conservative calls to deport Representative Ilhan Omar over comments she purportedly made about Somalia have no legal merit, experts tell Newsweek.

The progressive Democrat, a Somali American and Muslim, has been under fire for remarks she allegedly made to Somali American constituents that have been viewed over 7 million times on X. Omar, a Somali American and Muslim, seemed to address a deal struck by Somalia's breakaway region of Somaliland with landlocked Ethiopia to give it access to the sea.

Republicans, including Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, have openly called for Omar to be deported, with the latter saying: "She flaunts using her position as congresswoman to protect Somalia's border while our border is invaded by MILLIONS of illegals who are a danger to America."

She can't be deported, she is an American Citizen:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ilhan_Omar#:~:text=Omar became a U.S. citizen,political science and international studies.

Omar became a U.S. citizen in 2000 when she was 17 years old. Omar attended Thomas Edison High School, from which she graduated in 2001, and volunteered as a student organizer. She graduated from North Dakota State University in 2011 with a bachelor's degree, majoring in political science and international studies.

That doesn't mean anything.  Anyone who is not a natural born citizen can have their citizenship revoked.

Omar represents what we should all oppose.  Not sure deporting her is as valuable as pointing to her and her evil thoughts, and offering counter points to highlight her as filth.

Democrats all love her, because she stands for everything they believe.  Leave the hellhole I once lived in to a great place, then actively try to turn the great place into a new hellhole.

Calls to deport her are plainly racist. Not that I’m surprised.

But it would be nice if she wasn’t reelected. I am not a fan

Nothing coming of it. I say keep her around. She doesn’t help the left one bit.

Being a Packer fan makes you gay. Being a Packers fan means you root for the professional football team based in Green Bay.

She strikes me as not a good person and I disagree with her views too much to ever vote for her or support her.

At the same time, many of the attacks against her are racist, xenophobic, and anti-Muslim.

So you would be in favor of mass deportations (under Trump) of all those you don't think are "American" even though they have citizenship?

How so?  have you seen all of the attacks to determine that "many" of them are racists, xenophobic and anti-Muslim?

You guys throw those words out for anyone that doesn't agree with you or even gives the slightest of criticism, so they've pretty much lost all meaning.

They are. That’s my point.

If you can't control your border you don't have a country.

1. Of course.
2. This is a common argument used to deflect against all charges of racism. It doesn’t fly.

Not once in our history have we “controlled” our border at the level that Republicans are currently proposing. There has always been a migration of people passing back and forth without documentation. Right now it’s at a historically large pace and we need to deal with that. But even now it does not threaten our sovereignty at all. It never has.

I get that, you have been taught to assume that any criticism of her must be something other than "her".

All good, in full candor I no longer care when people us those terms....they are now used so carelessly and frequently that where i now see them used I am more bemused than anything else.

And it doesn’t require congress. Biden said it’s a crisis. What’s he doing about it? Congress says no deal. Then what? Crisis continues?

Stop repeating conservative talking points. There is very little that Biden can do about this by executive order. He needs more manpower and judges. And even if he could do something you guys would simply challenge it in courts and call him a dictator. Such hypocrites.
