Sense February the high Sierra have avg 3 quacks per week in the 3.5 or higher magnitude.  I think California will be leaving soon, and I’ll be owning beach front property.

LOL.  Californians are laughing at people calling that an earthquake.

Kinda like when it rains in California and they call it a disaster.

If earthquakes are inevitable a wise man once said just lie back and enjoy it.

An even wiser person said, take cover, and be ready.

That doesn’t work too well when up 36 floors 😂

Lemme guess - Trump's fault.  Amiright?

He’d take credit…big, beautiful earthquakes. Like you have never seen. He knows geology better than everyone!

Statue of Liberty was hit by lightning yesterday.  Peek a Boo, Judge Alderon, and Fat Albert are leading you New Yorkers to the slaughter. The End is Nigh.

Better to take care of that before the quake does it,  it would be a wise move.

Can’t live in fear of earthquakes! Sharks maybe, but not earthquakes.

My daughter works on the 21st floor in the fashion district, she said she felt it but it was mild, she wasn't scared.

Good to hear!

Earthquakes way down the list of things to be worried about in NYC. Like down there with getting attacked by hamsters 😂

Yeah, stuff like the TikTok trend of punching women in the face in NYC.  I've told her to just look alert, walk heel-toe (i.e., with confidence) and those losers will wait for the next girl.  Hopefully I'm right.

In a modern skyscraper designed for earthquakes you wouldn't even know one hit if you were on the 36th floor.

Yep. NYC and east coast may not be so good on this.

Those sand hogs accomplished amazing feats.  That said 100 year old infrastructure would concern me during even moderate earth quakes.  Also, are we expecting milder after shocks or is this a precursor, and how do we know the difference?

After reading Jerry's post I agree with this.  A couple of guys I worked with were on the 19th floor of a downtown Los Angeles skyscraper when the 6.8 Northridge earthquake hit.  IT guys doing off hours upgrades.  They didn't even know there had been an earthquake until they left to go home and heard about it on the radio.

Makes sense I’d def expect LA, SF to be prepped.

The only real big earth quake that hit Seattle since I lived here was luckily really deep IIRC. Otherwise would have been nasty. Came back home and all the water was shaken out of the toilet 😂

They got one about 100 years ago via fire.  They didn't have the time to remove it all so they rebuilt right over the top.  The tunnels tour is actually pretty cool and one of the favorite things I did when I lived there.

I went to the Air and Space museum when I was there. That was very cool. Got to go on one of the Concordes.  Not very fancy inside.
