Exactly.  I guess this is what the idiots on Fox News are saying today.

I don't give a crap what Fox says, it is what the law says you dumfuk.  And so far no one has even identified the crime that this fraud was suppose to aid.

Why haven't Trump's lawyers said this?  They deny he even focked her.

Trump's lawyers are only OK, but in fairness they have not presented their case yet.  And they are a bit handicapped having to please Trump.

I'm not sure if you're aware but the burden of proof is on the prosecution. They failed to prove their case.

No reasonable prosecutor would've brought a case against Trump for this.

We seem to have a whole lot of folks here assuring us that this case is over, it should never have been brought, the prosecution has failed, etc. They seem to know more than the defense, the pundits, everyone.

I have no idea how this trial is going to turn out, but I think a full acquittal is pretty unlikely. I’m thinking it’s going to be a conviction or a hung jury. Yet many of you seem positive it’s a full acquittal coming.

So once again I will offer money on it. $500 says a conviction or a hung jury. Any takers? If you guys are so certain the prosecution has no case this should be easy money for you.

He can’t be.

Even the people that have been there in the courtroom the whole time and seen all the evidence and heard all the testimony — the judge, the lawyers, and each juror — all they could really say is whether they think the case seems strong or weak.

No one really knows one way or the other how it’ll all shake out when it’s time for the jury to deliberate.

Yet alone people that haven’t heard the testimony or seen the evidence. Just relying on what Fox News or CNN tells them — and we have to, because it isn’t televised.

All fair points.

To be honest, I have not watched one minute of this trial. Have any of you?

I've heard recaps on the radio and I've seen some mockery of it on Gutfeld.

You guys seem to have been glued to the trial and know exactly who said what and when.

Mebbe get a life.

I even quoted worms admitting the case isn't televised but gutterboy thinks he has the inside scoop.

No one has been able to watch it since no cameras are allowed.  People are stuck listening to other people's interpretations.

The judge is going to provide the jury instructions as very favorable to the prosecution.  The case is pathetic and has not met its burden, but the judge can distort the law to deliver them a path to conviction.

One of teh many differences between me and gutterslut is that I don't post anything here I wouldn't say to his face.

There is no better conservative shtick than “we have real lives, you fockers don’t, that’s why you pay attention to politics and we don’t give a sh!t”.

Any time one of their own gets in the slightest bit of trouble they run out this playbook. It never fails.

Wow. Real Tim is quite ballsy I have to admit. Taking the NYC jury and the far left compromised judge side of the bet. You are one tough hombre, betting  money you didn’t break a sweat for. Oh how I wish it would all crumble on the likes of you. Such an ungrateful turd.

Gutterboy went to a Giants pre-season practice last year and after watching them in shorts and helmets declared them to be the upcoming division winners. Grain of salt is in order with any analysis he offers.

You don’t get to use the word “ungrateful”, given your horrendous views on immigration and your support for Donald Trump. You have no recognition whatsoever of the greatness of this country and what it truly means and what your responsibilities are as an American citizen. Frankly you’re unpatriotic.

I feel strongly that the case should never have been brought, but in the end that is a matter of opinion.  To my knowledge the prosecution has yet to broach the subject of election interference; perhaps the plan is just mention in summary, "well hey, there was an election, so it interfered, yahtzee!"  :dunno:

But I have no idea how it is going to turn out.

Also, your sad attempt to add "hung jury" to your side of the bet made me think:  what if he is found guilty of the misdemeanors only?  I feel like I heard there is a scenario where this is an option.  If so, I could see this being the plan all along.  Tying the docs stuff to a bullshiot election interference charge allowed them to call it a felony and bring the case in the first place.  But they never even try to make it stick, and let the jury be Solomon splitting the baby and find for the misdemeanors.  In the end, Bragg and the judge can go to their woke get-togethers and be heroes for convicting the OMB.

I had another idea, more tinfoil hat, where the judge calls a mistrial at the end because the prosecution never brought the felony part of the case, and they do the whole thing again.  Here the idea is simply to keep OMB busy during the election.

The only reason for my “sad attempt” is because some of the posts here seem so positive of an acquittal. Otherwise I wouldn’t have offered.

But I doubt either of your alternatives is going to happen. He’s either going to be convicted on the felonies (I believe there are 34 of them) or a hung jury with one or two people holding out. Those are pretty much the only outcomes. I suspect a conviction.

Here’s a take from The NY Times, FWIW:

Over the course of his monthlong criminal trial, the evidence against Donald J. Trump has piled up.

A recording of his voice directing a fixer to pay in cash. Phone calls, text messages, emails and a photograph that illustrate the case against him. And a parade of 18 witnesses who together told the prosecution’s story: that Mr. Trump orchestrated a conspiracy to suppress sex scandals during the 2016 election, and after winning, sought to bury a porn star’s story for good.

But the 19th and final witness of their case — the only one to directly link Mr. Trump to the 34 business records he is charged with falsifying — is Michael D. Cohen. And for prosecutors, he was always high-reward, high-risk. Though Mr. Cohen got off to a strong start, Mr. Trump’s lawyer eventually hammered his credibility, highlighting his criminal record and painting him as a serial liar bent on taking down the former president.

It was the most significant momentum swing of the first criminal trial of an American president — and with Mr. Cohen’s star turn on the stand poised to conclude on Monday, the prosecution’s case would seem to hang in the balance. Mr. Trump’s legal team argues that it is preposterous to have built a case that could hinge on Mr. Cohen’s credibility.

But as the trial enters its final stage and the focus shifts from the lawyers at the lectern to the 12 silent New Yorkers who will determine Mr. Trump’s fate, several legal experts say the case remains the prosecution’s to lose. Between the reams of circumstantial evidence and some very favorable laws underpinning the charges, the Manhattan district attorney, Alvin L. Bragg, has retained inherent advantages.

And so, whatever the jurors think of Mr. Cohen — truth-teller, fabulist or something in between — the prosecution did not need them to believe his every word.

Marc F. Scholl, who served in the district attorney’s office for nearly four decades and worked on dozens of cases that included the false records charge, said prosecutors have checked all the legal boxes.

“If the jury chooses to believe the government’s evidence, then a conviction is warranted,” he said, though he noted Mr. Cohen, with all his baggage, “remains the linchpin” of the case. “The jury does not have to believe all of what Cohen has to say, but they have to believe enough of it.”

You are the absolute definition of confirmation bias. You don’t pay attention until you find a post that aligns with what you already believe- in this case one that is pro-Trump and “smart-sounding”. Then you praise it and ignore everything else. Well done!
