What an absolute disgrace this judge is. Dime a dozen in NYC.

I do derive enjoyment from watching MSM cry and whimper over not being able to take down a political candidate

Scheduling from Merchan:

Closing Arguments will take place on Tuesday. He does not believe they will complete both Closings by 4:30 pm so he has asked the jurors to please stay late on Tuesday.

Merchan also tells the jury that they should expect to begin deliberations on Wednesday.

The jury is excused and the lawyers will return at 2:15 pm ET to begin to go over the proposed jury instructions with the judge.

That his witness was a disaster or that his life is filled with failure?  Or both?

Well the witness was combative with the judge causing the judge to clear the courtroom.  The jury saw this and the witness lost all credibility.

As far as life failure, well there have been plenty of books written but in recent history you see a lost election, lost court cases, and many many people close to him disbarred, indicted and/or in jail.

I meant the witness disaster part.

Lost all credibility?  Like more than a convicted perjurer or a porn star?

Also, perhaps some in the jury drew a different conclusion.  Perhaps sitting there all day every day, some are thinking "man, this judge sure seems one-sided."

Who knows?  :dunno:

This compromised, disgrace of a judge is going to let this Jury go over the weekend.  Such bullshitt.  Not that it matters, but he’s not even trying to look fair.

“Yeah I would testify, absolutely. I’m testifying. I tell the truth. All I can do is tell the truth. And the truth is there’s no case – they have no case”

For all of Cohen's faults, he performed well on the stand, and his testimony was corroborated by others.  The lone defense witness was such an that the judge had to clear the court and scold him.  According to reporters, jurors were looking at each other with WTF looks during his testimony before the court was cleared.

We're not in the jury room, but all indications are they think he's a clown.  And that is all they put forward.  The defense would have been MUCH better off just resting and arguing that they didn't need to call anyone because the prosecution failed to meet their burden

His daughter. He’s obviously corrupt. @jerryskids says he’s “one-sided”. Who the fock knows at this point? Who the fock cares? The Leader is on trial so the judge is bad. If the judge was good he’d toss the case out.

My belief is you don’t even need cohen’s testimony to convict. Throw it all out — the rest is plenty anyway as far as making a strong circumstantial case.

If I’m right, it’s an easy conviction.

If I’m wrong it gets very interesting. I could see it going either way then and probably most likely a hung jury. Personally I highly doubt I would ever hinge a guilty vote on an admitted liar, perjurer and felon

Four days between closing arguments and deliberations? If you can’t see why that might be an issue then you need to step away from a thread about trials.

wait youre a lawyer? I actually thought that, and you think someone should be convicted over a misdemeanor for "circumstantial"

this is the only case in history where a dude admits to a FELONY in order to try to get his boss convicted of a misdemeanor

So the defense wanted to call the former chairman of the federal election commission as a witness and Merchan wouldn’t allow it.

Specifically, what is the problem you have with this? Please explain how hurts the defense or helps the prosecution.

im familiar with the law, I also know that this whole case is only applicable if its applied to another crime, which still was never charged or presented

bottom line, if the name isnt OMB this case and all you libs wouldn't even waste your time with it, even CNN admits what you wont

I also realize you fail to address what I put in the second line of the context, which ties back to your whole "circumstantial"

I wish Trump would have worn a giant thermometer on a large chain around his neck, ala Flavor flav, so we could all see how cold or not cold it actually is in that courtroom.  It would have been funny and might have endeared him to his new constituency.

I watched an episode of the black lady with the boy haircut on MSNBC for chits and giggles.  She spent 10 minutes going through the highlights of the trial yesterday with 3 panel "experts" and the following facts weren't even brought up.  Instead they discussed back and forth how credible of a witness Cohen was :

- Cohen admitted to stealing from the Trump organization

- Costello testified that Cohen said repeatedly that he didn't have any evidence against Trump.

It's no wonder people in this country are so foked up, some of these lemmings can't differentiate what news is real and what isn't.  By contrast ABC Evening New was pretty fair and balanced highlighting the two problems noted above for the prosecution.

Aren't you the same crew who's demanding Justice Thomas to step down because of what his wife says?

That's just the first one that came to mind.  You've been consistently wrong on legal issues throughout your tenure here.  Pretty sure you were wrong about Rittenhouse too.  Hey at least I'm not bringing sh#t up from 75 years ago, right?

So the judge threatened to strike Costellos testimony if he raised his eyebrows  again.

I don't know who you are talking about but on Morning Joe on MSNBC this morning they did talk about Cohen admitting to stealing and how it gave Cohen the chance to get into the details of how Trump hired a firm for $50k to produce a fake poll that he won, and Cohen talked them down to $20k as Trump asked but collected the original $50k and pocketed it.  They also talked about Costello's testimony and how the jury probably dismissed what he said because of the clown show yesterday, and it contradicts everything else that was presented.

He was doing more than just raising his eyebrows. He was rolling his eyes and being disrespectful like that to the judge can be considered contempt of court.
