Your point I responded to was the media instructed us to dislike Trump. Terrible take.

I don’t care for many of his polices as well. But you don’t need anyone to tell you he’s a total schmuck 😂

I understand you might tend to disagree, but it works, it is effective and people are clearly falling for it.  Which policy do you think is perhaps the one you might point at as being the worst?

If the election were held today, I'd bet Kamala would win.  There is just wayyyy too much anti Trump sentiment and he is definitely a flawed candidate.  Kamala sucks too, but again, the democrats are simply voting "not Trump"  Makes no difference who their pick is, and they picked probably the worst they could..But they had to.  They  are betting that the "not Trump" voters will give her a win.  And right now I believe they will get it

Democrats are no longer merely voting “not Trump.” They’re voting FOR Kamala. That is the current reality though few people around her seem to realize it.

No matter who the democrats selected to replace Biden, they would have had this support.  To say there is no "not Trump" voting going on shows you really don't know anything about anything

I'm genuinely asking... I am a middle of the road, mostly conservative man, socially liberal (in that I don't think the government should tell people how to live their lives) who makes good money and lives in California... what did Donald Trump do for me? What will he do for me?  (and i know my vote doesn't count because I live in CA and the Electoral College means my vote is meaningless)   I live in CA and i don't feel like we are over-run with illegals. My taxes went up because he capped the SALT tax.    So why should I vote for Trump? (who non politically I think is a horrible person)

Question was already answered in another response to you yesterday.  But lets see.....based on your individual set of circumstances, might add these....

The DOW closed above 20,000 for the first time in 2017 and topped 30,000 in 2020.
The S&P 500 and NASDAQ have repeatedly notched record highs.
Household net worth rose $7.4 trillion in Q2 2020 to $112 trillion, an all-time high.
Home prices hit an all-time record high.
More than 6 million American workers received wage increases, bonuses, and increased benefits thanks to the tax cuts.
A typical family of four earning $75,000 received an income tax cut of more than $2,000 – slashing their tax bill in half.
Cut the business tax rate from 35 percent – the highest in the developed world – all the way down to 21 percent.
Small businesses can now deduct 20 percent of their business income.
Businesses can now deduct 100 percent of the cost of their capital investments in the year the investment is made.
Since the passage of tax cuts, the share of total wealth held by the bottom half of households has increased, while the share held by the top 1 percent has decreased.
Over 400 companies have announced bonuses, wage increases, new hires, or new investments in the United States.
Over $1.5 trillion was repatriated into the United States from overseas.
Lower investment cost and higher capital returns led to faster growth in the middle class, real wages, and international competitiveness.

There’s YouTube, Twitter, social media of all sorts to suit your political flavor.

Maybe, but their voting for an image of her that they have more than anything they have heard her say or know.  We have really no idea what she stands for.  Is she the Medicare for All person or is she not?  Fracking, yay or nay?  She's been on one side, now we are hearing she's on the other of some of these issues.  What's funny is, she hasn't told us.  It's obvious they don't want her having to give answers on the fly.  That's not a slam, it's smart on the part of her campaign and handlers because it's working and at least for now the press isn't pushing her on it.

Let's not pretend she's some great orator and she's bringing people in that way.  People were hungry for anything but the two folks we had running, and for now she is that stand in.  Maybe she makes it to the finish line without having to be more, I don't know.

Trump has been a known quantity in entertainment since at least the mid 80's. people knew he tended to have bully qualities (it was sort of a fundamental tenant of the show he was heavily involved in)

He was sued for racial housing discrimination in the mid 70's. The Central Park Five he continued to rail about in the 2000's even after they were exonerated by evidence.

Those things are not media fabrications. They are facts- and this implication that people have that Trump dropped out of the sky in 2015 and no one knew anything about him before that is silly.

I get it. You guys aren’t paying attention to the huge excitement she is generating, the tons of people attending her rallies. I bring this up and talk about the incredible enthusiasm and how her speech making is now at a level matching Obama and Reagan, and I get mocked. You guys simply refuse to believe it. And yet it’s happening.

Maybe it’s all temporary. Maybe in a few weeks this will all fade away. But I doubt it. Kamala Harris is offering hope, joy, a positive outlook. These are not meaningless words to most voters. She is the antithesis of the doom and gloom that Trump consistently projects. People want a hero; as Paul Simon once wrote, a nation will forever turn its lonely eyes to Joe DiMaggio. They want somebody to look up to and feel good about. Thats at the root of what’s happening here. You guys haven’t realized it yet. But you will.

That lawsuit was settled in 1973 when DJT was 26 years old. Stop lying that he discriminated against anyone. The incidents occurred in the 60’s when he was in college.

This is a far better analysis than that offered by @supermike80 or @Strike but I feel you still miss two key points:

1. She really has become a great orator. I honestly don’t know when it happened because I agree she wasn’t one in 2020 or throughout most of her time as VP. But she is one now.

2. The key to almost all of the great politicians is that you’re not supposed to know where they stand on too many issues. She is a liberal, Reagan was a (traditional) conservative, Clinton and Obama ran as centrists. Beyond these all-encompassing terms all of them were deliberately vague on details because the public doesn’t want to know them. Voters prefer to create their own image of the candidate.
Later on Kamala will provide a specific platform list of issues and positions like all the rest. But for now she is deliberately working on creating FEELING. She wants you to feel she is good, she needs to have you like her. That’s how she will win.

The ratings have flipped dramatically.  Why? 🤔   When your are a "news" organization that steadily parrots the lies of a political party (Democrats) with reckless abandon you lose credibility, and people with simple common sense move away, stop consuming it....ratings drop.   So the incessant lies, such as Trump is Hitler and a dictator etc.....top being consumed, but back when they were being consumed.....people such as yourself devoured it.

Agreed.  And to be fair, CNN reaped some reward from lambasting him on the daily.

So if I have to balance some thing he did in the 70's against whether or not he helps me today.....I am taking benefit today....

He was going on about Obama being from Kenya for like a decade.

Except that for years Fox wound up telling the truth..... hence the steady migration of viewership as you noted.....the ratings.   So MSM, through their parroting of Democrat lies, played themselves.

And today the ratings reflect that shift of people away from lying partisan media hacks on the left and toward lying partisan media hacks on the right.
