Louisiana requires Ten Commandments displayed in every public classroom

I didn't say it exactly says "separation of church and state."

Neither does it say you should be separated from your blow-up-doll boyfriend, but it certainly guarantees your right to say stupid and immature things to one.

So you are both an online needy lonely liberal, AND you are stupid. 😆

You should watch out your window, someone is trying to see your hair color.

There not injecting religion into the public school, they are injected Jesus Christ into the public system, and it’s about time.

Lets get rid of all this other fake 💩

Amen

Thanks.

You're saying that "religion" and "Jesus Christ" aren't synonymous?

Common Sense tells you that the 10 commandments  should be displayed in schools?

Good, something we agree on.  Both don't belong.

No Straw Man, we are not in agreement.

See, that's weird.  The tweet you posted implied that if one is "indoctrination", then so is the other one.  If that's the case, then they either both go or they both stay.

The tweet I posted pointed out the hypocrisy or inconsistency that one was indoctrination while the other wasn't.

Agreed... which is why I said, either both are or both aren't.  That being the case, I say the both are and neither belong.

My assumption was that you don't think the 10 Commandments belong in school.  Now, if that's not the case, my bad.  But if it is, then either we both agree that they both don't belong or that your ok with hypocrisy or inconsistency, as long as it favors your beliefs.

Completely agree. And I don’t know why who a person has sex with is either. Isn’t that what your home  is for?

Agreed.  I grew up in CA and there was no religion in my public schools and the gayest thing they taught us was 3 weeks of Square Dancing as part of PE haha

Yeah, and if parents want their kids to attend a Christian private school, there are plenty of them out there.

At least Judaism and Islam have commandments.

But state government has no business requiring schools to post the 10 Commandments.

While I disagree with this, it’s not nearly as bad as California not notifying parents that their child has begun transitioning at school.  That’s far worse. Yet liberals doer seem to be bothered much by it as they are about some words.

The CONCEPT of religion SHOULD be taught in schools. Kids should know about it since it has a massive influence on no less than half the people in this world in one way or another. They should also know the history of our country and the reason people came here in the first place.  Preaching a religion is a different story.

That should be left up to the parents.  The parents can take them to church or send them to private school.

No. Religion is the same as anything else in the world. It has real world consequences on everyone at one point or another. The general public should not be ignorant of why people around the world are living and dying over it.

Teaching what religion is in general and it's place in our history I think is important.  Other than that, keep it out of our public schools.

I'd rather them be indoctrinated with a good moral compass to live by rather than some blue haired freak telling a child they might be trans without the parents knowledge

Where's your outrage for sharia law being practiced inside court rooms?

I actually do not mind this. A general course about religion, agnosticism, atheism without advocating any one concept is of value.

It would be more fitting if they displayed the 10 commandments in every government building.  Leave the kids alone.

Thanks.

Not according to the constitution. Transgender good, religious governance bad.

They *kind of* do this when they talk about monotheism, atheism, polytheism if kids are learning about things like Greek/Roman gods, etc. Of course they don't specifically call out Allah, Yaweh, God/Jesus/Holy Spirit, but they do talk about those different religions and beliefs.

At least they did when I was in school, but I imagine times have changed quite a bit.

I don’t agree with it.  But, no one can argue that Judeo-Christian principles have made us a thriving society.  If the left wasn’t waging a war on the nuclear family and general morality, this wouldn’t have even arisen.

lol it’s pretty easily arguable. You’re not too bright.

Yeah. Why would any parent not want their kids to be knowledgable able what the heck religion is. How it influences our country. Why there are, and have been, wars over it all?  It's like anything else. It crosses over with the thoughts of good and bad, right vs. wrong.., anything philosophical as well as in your face commercialization and general outreach.

I wouldn't want my kid to turn 17, go to college, and be blind-sided by a typical conversation about religion and not know what the fock she is talking about. Our nation was founded upon it. Like it or not, right?

Do you think it harms kids to see the 10 commandments posted on the wall in some building? Do you let your kids have a phone with internet? Or a laptop? Or watch tv. Or go out into the world and view it with thier eyes? Or teach them how to read?

The 10 commandments would be the least of my worries.

The predominantly Christian countries are the best ones in the world for the most part. Most of the other ones are rotten shitholes with a few exceptions.  Take a look at globe.

My kids all took a world religion segment as part of history.  They learned about all the different kinds of religion and why people practice.  I think this is important.  The more we understand each other the better we will get along.  It's when we put up walls between each other and create animosity when we have problems.

I am not a wonderful gauge for this for back then as i went to a catholic high school (religious courses required), catholic college (religious course required), and catholic graduate school (religious courses not required). My daughter just graduated high school and is fairly averse to required religion classes. if i can get her attention, i'll ask about exposure on her path
