Starting Rice tonight as well. I am in 4 leagues this year. Too much!

The guy that used to own the fake bar I bought is starting a 5k league next year. 12 teams. I grabbed a team. I will have 1 partner though. 5k is a lot of scratch

Jackson with two bad end zone passes, dude throws to hard and high.

Nothing against Lamar, but some peoples adoration of him borders on the irrational. Was listening to Jason Smith on the radio about a half an hour ago.

I'm convinced he was touching himself while fawning over Lamar. He went as far as to say that Lamar was the best QB on the field, and it wasn't even close.

He has accuracy issues at times for sure, he's a better version of Justin Fields is all.

I’m not sure I’ve ever seen Lamar complete a deep pass. Doesn’t help that they keep surrounding him with smurfs at receiver.

Lamar had a few nice passes to him in the first half. Flowers isn’t going to win a lot of jump balls down the field at 5’9.

KC’s D is really good too.

Rashad Bateman is a first round pick and he’s 6’1”. People just like saying stuff.

Rashad Bateman was the 27th overall pick and he gets hurt every year. Some people just like begging for my attention.

Myles Boykin was a third round pick of the Ravens. He’s 6’4”

Myles Boykin is a FA with 500 career receiving yards on 3 teams since he was drafted in 2019.

Can someone take the Friday shift with Problem Child? 🤡

this is true.  he missed a decent amount of good opportunities for big plays.  even the last play of the game... if he throws a better ball, likely does not need to adjust and can get 2 feet in.

holy fock what a fun fockin game to be at

I think the Ravens will be fine.  Chatted with a Ravens fan in the parking lot and my comment was about the transition on their O-Line, and he was talking them up even though it was a new group.  But you could tell they aren't in any sort of rhythm yet.

On the first drive Lamar kept handing the ball off and faking a bootleg and no one was containing the edge.  I looked at my son and said "he's going to keep one of those and get outside and it's going to be a problem", and just a few players later I think he ran one in or got close enough that they eventually scored.  And then McDuffie let a receiver get loose.  I told Michael those kind of things are fixable and Spags will get things right for our D.  To me it felt like the Chiefs were definitely outplaying the Ravens, but for whatever reason the ravens just kept hanging around.   With Henry, Flowers and Likely and Lamar as a rushing threat the Ravens are going to be a good offense this year.  But it still feels like the thing holding the team back is their QB.

Agreed. KC’s D is really, really good. Baltimore will look better as the season goes on.

Lamar is seriously limited but the Ravens haven’t helped him at WR. He needs a big bodied receiver who can win jump balls.

The notion that the Ravens keep surrounding Lamar Jackson with smurfs is completely wrong. For a number of reasons. One of which being that height at the WR position is not the be all, end all it used to be. No one cared that Tyreek Hill was 5'10 when he was lighting it up with Mahomes, for example.  Garrett Wilson and JaMarr Chase are merely 6 feet. The Ravens have Mark Andrews, Isaiah Likely who I believe you will see function more as a receiver this year and anyone who has him rostered in fantasy may have struck TE gold,  and Bateman. Zay Flowers is 5'9 but he can be a stud. Put him on KC last year and they have no need to draft Worthy in 2024.

If anything, you can blame the Ravens for not being able to identify better talent at WR.... but it's not about their height.

That said, The first 2 endzone throws at the end of the game last night show exactly why Lamar is an overrated QB. He is not elite. He is an elite athlete, not passer. Even when their line looked better last season, he runs too much. He lacks a lot of touch on his throws, especially deep balls. What he does on the field is often electric (and often with his legs) and it's great for viewers and FF but I sincerely doubt he wins a Super Bowl unless he takes a step forward as a passer.

Agree and have said it for years.  Then people will point to a year or 2 of throwing stats.  Hes throwing against light coverage since they need guys with eyes on his running.  The degree of difficulty of pass coverages he sees is less than the elite throwers of the league.  But you will still get guys who point to 2019 or last year...look at his rating!   He's a very good passer!

No he is not.  Sometimes numbers lie.

Height isn’t the be all / end all, but when your QB struggles to throw accurate passes downfield you need to get him a big target with a large catch radius. No one cares that Tyreek is only 5’10 because Mahomes and Tua can drop dimes downfield. Lamar can’t.

Ask your mom is a few extra inches matter.
