Maybe he’s not on record saying he regretted it, but just using some common sense, you think he would have made that deal if he knew the other side wouldn’t live up to their end? EXACTLY! Reagan is on record as granting amnesty only on the condition there would be NO MORE ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION! Demoncrats lied! Is anyone really surprised that the party of the confederacy, Jim Crowe and segregation would lie about stopping illegal immigration? The demoncrats are the party that hates America! Why else would Ilhan Omar be a demoncrat? She hates America! AOC hates America! Right now Demoncrats have a 31% approval rating? Who are the 31% that like them? COMMUNISTS! TERRORISTS! FREAKS! ISLAM! If you love America, you have to be a Republican to save it!

The Real timschochet 6,443 Posted February 9 And FTR @Hardcore troubadour: the agreement wasn’t broken. Congress DID increase security for the border after Reagan’s amnesty. It just wasn’t enough to stem the tide. It will never be enough when there is a lot of people coming because as I keep trying to explain, you can’t slow down people crossing the border unless you’re willing to deal with the conditions in Latin America that is creating this issue. And we never have.

I wish I had it figured out. But I have great respect for Ronald Reagan. I’ve been to his library 3 times now. It’s a wonderful place to see if you’re ever in the LA area. Reagan was one of our greatest Presidents and amnesty is an important part of his legacy.

There were about 4x the number of illegals entering the country during the Biden years than there are now. Policy can make a difference.

HellToupee 1,594 Posted February 11 The FBI…. Quote Tom Homan Confirms FBI Likely Tipped-Off California Criminal Aliens to Avoid Deportation Sweep February 10, 2025 Yesterday, Dept of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem pointed a finger at the FBI for leaking the details of an ICE deportation sweep to the Los Angeles Times in order to tip-off criminal illegal aliens. Today, Tom Homan says, “Kristi Noem was correct, some of the information they are receiving leads to the FBI.” During an interview tonight with Sean Hannity, Border Czar Homan also said the Acting Deputy AG is going to pursue criminal charges against the FBI leaker. TrailGuy 552 Posted February 11 The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said Tuesday that in the first two weeks of President Donald Trump's second term, nearly 5,700 illegal immigrants had been deported. If the new administration continues at that clip, one expert told Newsweek, then it would be on track to deport half the number of migrants removed during former President Joe Biden's last full fiscal year in 2024. The Real timschochet 6,443 Posted February 19 I’ve never been a fan of AOC in particular but I am rapidly becoming one given her fight against this ridiculous deportation effort. I deliberately avoid the political threads here so it is very possible I have missed it, but when have you argued that addressing the conditions in LA are the key to dealing with illegal immigration? Climate change is the main reason, although that is not the only cause of economic instability. There’s also the fact that Latin America has had a 300 year history of unstable dictatorial regimes largely caused by our involvement and interference for immediate benefit. We reap what we sow. We simply disagree about the main cause, but the here is no denying that the CIA interfered in the governments of a couple of central and south American countries. It is debatable how much that still affects them today. I wouldn’t be able to speak to that. Much longer ago the Spanish meddled far more in those regions and I think it is arguable that those people never have fully recovered from the Spanish.
