Hundreds less will die than those murdered in liberal run cities. Have a treat. Go take your family to Taco Bell for some bean burritos.

So once they get to the giant ice wall that surrounds the flat Earth, do the hurricanes just whirl out into space?

I believe that's what the science tells us.

Dang.  Hope it loses steam before Florida.  :(

It's suppose to weaken before it hits Florida but it's going to still be a very large, damaging storm.  The wind speeds may lower but the amount of rain it dumps could be large.

I think it's suppose to weaken to a category 3 but it's still expected to do a ton of damage.  Storm surge is predicted to be very high.

This is a very strange hurricane.  Rarely does one start where this did and head to the east towards Florida.  Building up very quickly too.

It is now a category 5 hurricane.  That was fast.

Why doesn't she? Where is landfall? She's up north.

They are in Disney in Orlando. From what I see from my sources that I still have, they are predicting Tampa to take a direct hit for now. My main source is Exxon Mobil weather team that watches any and all storms in the Gulf of Mexico for evacuations of oil rigs and rerouting ship lanes. I’ll update as soon as I learn more.

They are hopefully leaving around midnight. They are also getting updates from Disney hourly.

FWIW. I hear Disney resorts are about as safe a place as you can be in this situation.

They are. Especially for the high end resorts for premium members. They have generators and plenty of food and supplies. They are built to sustain almost anything. We shall see..

Since I never lived in Florida until this year, I never had more than a "well that sucks, but its somebody else's problem" attitude about all this hurricane stuff. Panzhihua and Detroit didn't have anything like this. Now that I DO live here, I've become obsessed with this stuff. Three hurricanes have come through now and done nothing to us personally; Milton looks sure to miss us too but I'm still uneasy nonetheless. Pensacola has a history of getting clobbered and its more like "there but for the grace of God go I" type thing going on. We're 5/8 of the way through our first hurricane season and this is pretty dang scary.

If it's that big and headed for Tampa, the people who.should be running are those in St. Pete. Only a couple ways out via bridges. I lived there for three years and went through a mandatory evacuation. But Orlando, if it hits in Tampa, they have time to run east towards Jacksonville. That said, there is no accurate science on where those things hit. Even two days out.

Look up the history of hurricane Charley I think it was. .Was supposed to hit St. Pete. We got the fock out but it turned south and hit Cape Cora or whatever it's called on the Western coast of FL. A "small" hurricane 4. Focking kicked their ass. I went and visited afterward and holy hell. Don't mess with them if they are a 3+.

The top-end hurricane is feeding on a seemingly bottomless buffet of record or near-record hot waters in the Gulf of Mexico, which weren’t cooled much by the passage of Hurricane Helene less than two weeks ago. It has friendly winds and not much land in sight, unless it edges closer to the northern end of the Yucatan peninsula.

That puts the glass ceiling of MPI for Milton at around 195 mph, with an atmospheric pressure near 900 MB, said Tomer Burg, a researcher with the National Weather Service’s Weather Prediction Center.

“At this point, for Milton’s short term forecast, we need to bring its maximum potential intensity (MPI) into the discussion“

How strong can Cat 5 Milton get? This hurricane may approach the maximum intensity

I can’t believe how much more ignorant and stooped you could be, but you have demonstrated it times and time again. Go back to FBGheys and enjoy. Oh wait, you can’t because those yards like you cannot because of those such as your self destroyed the that sh!t hole message board. Beyond understanding for those of us who have common sense.

My aunt moved from Ohio to Florida some time ago.  She LOVES to post a picture of the thermometer in the winter when we are cold up here and it's 75 degrees there.

Karma sucks.   I won't be childish and post something related to that, but part of me is like HA HA HA.

Right.  Those pictures of evacuations on I-75 are enough for me.

The rich can self insure their properties there. If damages incur, pay for the repairs and write it off. It’s elderly and middle class that are forced to go through the state run insurance system, which they cannot afford and are forced to sell. The domino effect of this is who the wants to buy if half of their mortgage payments go to skyrocketing insurance costs. Especially properties that are within five miles of the coast. Which then makes those renters escalate their prices to cover the costs. It’s a vicious cycle.

I spoke with the insurance commissioner and said, try this and see how they respond. Your answer will be in their answerd.

I said if the big four stop covering property, tell them they can’t write anymore from vehicle insurance if they refuse. He was deep in the pockets of them. He went to federal prison for a myriad of offenses due to his incompetence and political gain.

I hope I don't have to go down again to help my sister rehab her house.  She is in Naples so maybe the storm surge will not rise into her home, but she says it has been raining there pretty steady the past week and her neighborhood is already fairly full of water.  She has evacuated inland to a friends house which is also a few fett higher up, constructed of cinder block, with hurricane shutters and has a generator.

The last time I went down I left a generator and some tools in her garage on top of an eight foot heavy steal shelf so I will not have to pack tools, just water and replacement drywall plus gas for my truck and the chain saw I have stored there and propane for the generator I left.  It is a long drive.  I hope i can avoid it.  My parents and brother have passed away so I no longer have to help on their properties.   My parent's property was the worst.  That was less than a mile from the ocean.  It was strongly built so it never got wind damage but the storm surges sure liked to run up a canal right into their home.

While hurricanes hitting Florida are not unprecedented, this particular hurricane is.  I'm not blaming this on climate change or any conspiracies, but this hurricane is unlike most.

It’s not overly complex here, right? The water in the gulf is very, very warm right now. The atmosphere was already moisture laden. Perfect fuel. The weather nerds also say there was some bad luck with wind shear. This led to the storm growing so powerful so quickly.

The origins of the storm and the direction it's heading for starters.  The quickness it intensified is another.  It's being track as one of the strongest hurricanes on record.

If I read correctly, this may be the first hurricane to ever make landfall in Tampa as well.

It makes sense.  I'm just seeing a lot of people in the weather profession saying they have never seen anything like it.
