What is strategy when you get Chase’d on a Thursday night?

Recommended Posts

I just bought bobble head dolls of all of my opponents players and smashed them to pieces with a hammer then burned them in my fire pit.  Will follow up with results.

are points important in tie breakers for your league? or, is a win still a possibility?

if you think you can win go for it. otherwise, try to create a higher floor to keep pace with the league

In my office 2QB league, the person who had Chase & Andrews (74.2 points), played against the person who had Jackson & Burrow (66.62).

I'm gonna try to score more points than the other team.

Set your lineup, and see what happens.  It’s a simple game.

He got 68 in my league...

Thankfully, I'm not facing him.

I say just go about business as usual. The objective is to try and score the most points, that's not really changed.

I remember several years ago, Peyton Manning started off the season with that monster game with like 450 yds and 7 TDs. I started him and got 71 pts. It still took Dan Bailey in the Sunday Night game to win it for me.

I would personally go into the scoring settings of your league and reduce the points for Thursday night games in Week 10 by 300%.

You have to embrace variance.  Guys like Alec Pierce that score 1.4 points or 20 points become more attractive as options.  Guys like Josh Palmer that score between 7 and 12 points aren't going to help you.

Understand that you're probably going to lose either way, and just play all the boom or bust guys if on average they score about the same as the consistent, low ceiling guys.

I play in 5 leagues this year.

I’m playing Chase in 3 of those leagues this week, and in 2 of those 3 I’m playing the Chase/Burrow combo.  Yeah, not a good Thursday night for me this week.

Would be a great week to have a lot of players on bye 😃

It's like giving 110%, but the opposite.

The strategy is don't look at your score until Tuesday.

Winner, I don’t even look at who my opponent is starting until after the Monday night game is final, then I look at the score.

Kamara had a great game a couple of seasons ago, and so many game on the board yelling how they beat their opponent who had started Kamara against them.

I remember one game Vikings defense was missing a lot of their good players. I think, it was Christmas Day. Kamara got like 7 or 6 TD haha

One thing you might actually try to do - try to spend some actual time picking a terrific defense matchup and kicker matchup. If you can find 10+ points from each of those you narrow a Chase performance from a 40+ point bump to a 20+ point bump, which maybe if your roster is good enough you might pull off. You need some luck but also look for backup QBs stepping in like Rush in DAL, maybe plug in the DST & Kicker both against the same flailing team and see if you can't get something in a blowout.

You need to keep up, I don’t know who my opponent started, doesn’t mean I don’t know how players have performed before Tuesday.  I just don’t know if my opponent has those players.  Really try harder.  Fool.

You're right and I'm wrong.  You were clearly referring to Kamara's legendary game, and I thought you were referring to Chase.

I'm so STUPID!!!
