Here come the tariffs

I agree that Rupubicans, or conservatives have no better a track record than do liberals.  I merely note that for liberals it is a core belief while conservatives or republicans at least acknowledge the problem.  The reason I am a fan of neither party is that they do what they want fiscally to address gaining and staying in power in the now and the immediate future.  Neither has our long term interests at heart.  They both have the impulse control of children.  Oh to get an adult in charge, one who can provide for the future and is willing to suffer a bit of austerity now to arrive at that future.

The economy is built on a pile of expanding debt (printing money). Stop the expansion of debt, and the money train stops. Let the money printer run, and inflation chips away at the dollar.

One adult in charge isn't going to fix that.

China doesn't pay the tariffs.  Do you need me to explain to you how tariffs work?

Right. So if we drop the tariffs the cost of their product will go down?

No I said markets were reacting, and they are, weaker Canadian dollar and peso, euro equities down.  Meaning the markets don't see this as a negotiation tactic.

The cost to China remains the same regardless of tariff.  The importer pays the tariff and passes it on to consumer, so no tariff then the likely outcome is that cost is no longer passed on.  Make sense?

Yeah. So you think the price would drop wit the removal of the tariff? I’m not asking who pays it. I’m asking about the result.

Trump destroying liberal's minds to the point of them not even knowing what happened over the last 4 years around them.

Global drivers caused the inflation under Biden.

What Trumpty Dumpty plans to do will directly cause inflation.

How will you feel when that happens?

BS that global drivers grew inflation.  Biden wanted to buy votes so he passed out free money in the midterms.

Yes.  This is what happened in 2023 when his washing machina tariffs expired.

This dude thinks it's smart to raise tariffs then get retaliatory tariffs then support farmers with taxpayer money.

What a clown.

President of Mexico b!tch slaps Trump

"Maybe President Trump doesn't know this, but of those arriving at the border—which is significantly fewer, 75 percent less than in December 2023—half them have a CBP One appointment. In other words, they have an appointment. So, they [the U.S.] are the ones inviting them to come to the United States," she said.

Sheinbaum also highlighted Mexico's proactive role in addressing migration while criticizing the U.S. for failing to tackle the root causes. "If a percentage of what the United States spends on war were dedicated to peace and development, it would address the underlying causes of migration," she said, advocating for regional investment over punitive measures.

On the subject of tariffs, Sheinbaum suggested Mexico could retaliate. "One tariff would be followed by another in response, escalating until we risk harming mutual businesses," she warned, pointing to U.S. automakers with manufacturing plants on both sides of the border.

United States may be open to the idea of sending troops into Mexico, as Mexico has already invaded the United States.

I've always thought it would be beneficial for everyone if the US took over Mexico.  Clean up that cartel run country.

Nice. Good opening to the negotiations. It’s what you do when you have leverage. Gutterboy doesn’t get it. He’s been wrong about so much.

When you're shorter than Mini Me, you don't really know about leverage

Sure, why not?  It would be about as competitive as when we got in to one with Saddam Hussein in iraq.

I have nothing to substantiate this, but I wonder if Trump's theatened Canada tariff is some kind of retaliatory move for NAFTA hurting his business long ago. He sure had a hard on for NAFTA during his first reign of chaos.
