I don’t understand why they don’t just produce more Hispanic content if they want to use Hispanic actors.

For example, 100 Years of Solitude on Netflix right now. Watching it and it’s pretty darn good. Certainly helps quite a bit if you’ve read Gabriel Garcia Marquez’s novel. Anyway, the show uses almost all Hispanic actors, but it makes sense since, you know, the whole thing takes place in a village in Columbia.

Disney (I think it was?) did this with Encanto. They’ve done similar (ish) with Moana. Back in the day you had Mulan. There’s plenty of other examples too.

So why not just make more of those films? There’s got to be great stories waiting to be told all over the world.

And when it comes to old ass, staid Snow White (which has been done enough, anyway), just tell it as it was meant to be told. No need to reappropriate it when there’s plenty of fresh. Intent out there waiting to be told

I can kinda see both sides of this.  The Left doesn't like the underlying premise that "the whiter, the prettier," so their message is that beauty comes in all colors.  The Right is concerned that this is yet another example of the Left saying "truth" is whatever they say it is -- white is brown, boys are girls, Kamala is eloquent.  Also, as @IGotWormsjust said, let the white folks have Snow White and make more Encantos, Moanas, Mulans...

My girls are grown so I'll never see it.  Doesn't much matter to me.

As long as casting doesn’t detract from the quality of production, I am indifferent about the race of the characters. 
 

I don’t think casting impacted the reimagined little mermaid. It was generally pretty meh.  I do not think a Caucasian red head would have changed that.

bridgerton on the other hand felt forced (though I didn’t dislike the actors).

Edit: the evil queen is being played by Gal Gadot?  I don't think she needs to be jealous at all in this case.

Why would they when blacks only represent about 1.7 per cent of the total population? They probably don't have much of a pool of black actors to choose from when casting. 

Latinos account for approximately 19% of the total US population, so it shouldn't be a shock that they occasionally are given main character roles.

That's why God made different women for us to ogle.  Oddly, most of my favorite hot actresses are Latina or dirty white (Italian, etc.).  And I'm 1/2 pollack.  But I don't find this Snow Brown attractive in the least.

Hard to say.  Didn't she also say that the whole story sucked, and that the idea of being rescued by a prince was toxic masculinity or some such shiot?  I feel like she didn't endear herself to fans of the movie from the get go.
