The vibe from Chiefs fans leading up to the game was that a KC win was inevitable. They were very smug, and got punched in the mouth.

Ouch. I bet CMH posted that reddit.

Meh. Brady had some really good defenses and some years with better weapons than Mahomes had even when Tyreek was there.

The guy has played in 5 SBs in his 7 years in the league and won 3 of them. The hype is real and well deserved, despite last night.

KC defense was terrible this year. 4th in points allowed. good call. They lost because picksix maholmes was terrible and fatman reid’s inability to adjust.

Mahomes was awful last night but he wasn’t helped by the terrible OL and play calling / lack of adjustments. One reason I felt pretty good going in is KC had no one at receiver who scares anyone. Worthy’s scores cake against the Eagles backups.

Mahomes is legitimately great, he just played a dreadful game like the rest of the Chefs O.

I was simply stating that Brady consistently had some pretty good defenses  (if my memory serves) so it does not surprise me that his SB loss margin was small.   I was not blaming last nights loss on the KC defense, although maybe the defensive play calling was not great and it seemed like they had some trouble generating pressure. They definitely did a good job bottling up Barkley for the most part.  Maybe Spags focused a little too much on that

the 1st 3, absolutely.  great defenses. The last 3, not so much.

Even Tom Brady lost a couple of Superbowls to great pass rushes. It’s tough to win when there are defensive ends in your face the entire game no matter how great a QB you are.

No because those Giants teams were not as good as this Eagles team.

Im no Philly fan (perish the thought!) but I think you’re looking at this from the wrong perspective. I think the 2024 Eagles are going to go down as one of the great teams in NFL history.

They went 16-1 since October and their only loss was with Hurts injured. Just sayin.

They had a great year. The NFL is down as a whole. 17 Game schedule is dumb and they are dead set on making it 18 and worse.

Maholmes had a terrible year, with no RBs and no WRs and no one could beat them, until thank god the Eagles did.

One of the great teams in NFL history? Not so sure.

I’m not either. But the fact that they lost to the Falcons and Bucs in September is irrelevant. New coordinators on both side of the ball and something like 7 new starters on D etc. Once they rounded into form the Eagles dominated.

by what metric? ... as a stand alone team meaning just this 2024 Eagles?  The NFC was much weaker this year than the AFC.  Don't get me wrong, hats off to the Eagles for the game they played last night but I could very easily make the case that the Chiefs had a more impressive season, all things considered.

I suppose you could say they will go down in history for toppling a dynasty? Even then, idk.  Not like they prevented a dynasty just because they prevented a 3 peat. KC is already a dynasty for playing in 5 of the past 6 SBs and winning 3 of them. And I don't see KC going anywhere, like last night ended their run.

This Super Bowl was just like 2020... the Chiefs had no answers for the pass rush and Mahomes wasn't able to make decisions at the line.  Everyone on KC stunk... the OLine, Defense, Mahomes, and Reid, and for the 2nd time in 5 years, they weren't able to adjust.

My thoughts are based on what I saw: great pass rush, great offensive line, very good QB with running skills, great running back, very good at stopping the run. If I were building the perfect football team from scratch the Eagles would be close to that team.

Not exactly like 2020.    A Reid's son (and Chiefs asst coach) didn't leave a team meeting drunk and smash into a car,  permanently injuring a little kid before the game this year.

I saw them in 1990 at a show that also featured Naughty By Nature, Queen Latifah, Big Daddy Kane and Sons of Berzerk.

Pats fans are taking a victory lap because Mahomes lost.

  1. That's dangerous.  All they're doing is motivating him.
  2. I'm not completely sure getting blown out in a super bowl is as important as they keep saying.
    1. He had a crap o-line in both.  That's not his fault
  3. This team would've been trash if a backup like Matt Cassell came replaced him.  When Brady got replaced by Cassell, they went 11-5.  If wentz, who is about on the same level as Cassell, replaced Mahomes, what are the Chiefs this year?  5-12?

All the casuals want to dance on Mahomes' grave.  Mahomes is already better than Brady.  He just needs to play out the rest of his career before taking the GOAT throne.

It's because he feels like it's his dying duty to defend Tom Brady's legacy for some reason.   No one is claiming Pat is the GOAT.  Yet ed is going to try and squish the argument before it's even really time to debate it.

I'm not mad about this loss.   How can you be when you've been on this mountain top? You really think the pat's fans felt that awful after losing to Eli? You knew it sucked but you also know how this team regroups and makes the tough decisions year after year to be a perennial contender.

Good points.   If say 9-8 with wentz.

I said it was wentz, didn't I.  And I bet the Chiefs don't even make the playoffs with him at QB.

Nope.  He definitely cares.

Just like Brady wanted him to lose to try and hold off Mahomes stomping on his legacy.

I liked the segment with Terrell Davis, talking about Saquon chasing his total regular season and playoff yards record.  These guys definitely are all looking to be the king of the hill.

Deandre Hopkins is crying because the refs only gave them one more call than The Eagles got 😂

What an embarrassment! The Eagles beat them like a red headed stepchild

All the calls in the World wouldn't of stopped that Beatdown!!
