You think Americans are boycotting Canada now?  Or they will?

If Canada pisses enough people off, yes.

Why? I like it. And yes. I did the whole craft beer thing for years. Went to countless breweries across the country and enjoyed them. And still drink some here and there.

Stop being a snob.

Jeez.

I've never like Miller Lite.  I love craft beer but I am not above having light beers.  I grew up a Busch Light guy.  Miller is towards the bottom on my domestic beer list.

No that's your team.  I was thinking more impeachment or worst case we can back control of congress at the midterms.

So far Americans are supporting Canada.  They are against the tariffs and against annexing Canada.

Then you ought to say that instead of invoking your violent imagery.

Now you're opposed to beating cops and storming the Capitol to steal an election?

It’s clear Trump has clearly thought about these tariffs and knows exactly what he’s doing.

I set the over/under on the number of words that Trump read from that proclamation at 22.

Yeah.  Americans are really going to suffer without their European liquor.

That won’t hurt us but the European tariffs placed on our liquor will. Quite a bit of our liquor sales are international. Expect sales and job losses in Kentucky, Wisconsin and Napa Valley. This whole thing is a stupid disaster. We gain nothing.

Why would domestic liquor producers be hurt? This actually helps them. Your statement doesn’t make sense.

He's talking about the European tariffs.   See, Tim is 100% Ok with Europe putting tariffs on our goods and feels we should not have any tariffs at all on anything.  And when we add tariffs, and Europe increases theirs(which Tim says is bad) he blames the US for it.  The only bad hombre in the tariff conversation is his home country.  When others do it, he doesn't care.

Kinda like liberals think..America last

Do you have data on how much American liquor is used in Europe?

Update.  I just looked and it's a surprising amount that we export to E.U.   It hit a record high in 2023 with $883b.

Except the government is collecting the tariffs.  Effectively this is government income in the form of a tax.  I'm usually for lower taxes and have some reservations about this situation, but saying we gain nothing isn't correct.  It is income into the federal government, a reduction of deficit/debt.  It's essentially a foreign goods consumption tax.  There's also an impact of bringing jobs to the US to save these tariffs on the part of foreign producers.

So unless Trump changes his mind again (always a possibility) the new age of tariffs begin April 2. We will be placing tariffs on every country on Earth. These new tariffs will not be like any this world has ever seen before; way bigger than Smoot- Hawley (formerly the largest in history.) We import 3.5 trillion dollars worth of goods every year; 100% of these will have a new tax.

Most economists predict the effects will be catastrophic to our economy. Trump says it will be the start of a new golden age. He predicts large scale manufacturing will return to the USA. Most others doubt this.

Trump admin drops biden-era challenge to Alabama law banning puberty blockers for kids.   Indeed

Ephesians 2:8-9.   For by Grace are you Saved Through Faith, and that not of Yourselves, it is the gift of God, Not of Works, lest any man should boast.   Indeed Amen Thanks

that verse is the most hated Bible verse of man made up cult money hungry religions.

Muslims, Buddhist, atheist, Mormon, Hindu, Catholic.   Not about works, all five of those man made religions believe it’s about themselves, and not Faith in Jesus Christ your Lord and Savior.   Shame.

Only if Trump agrees to this and there is no indication that he will. He has said repeatedly that his tariffs are NOT a negotiating tactic to get others to lower their tariffs. I know you and others don’t believe him and I hope you’re right.

Awww man. I was hoping some of the tariffs would stick.  Domestic producers would benefit mightily from these things, hire more people and really pump up the job market.

( Donald J. Trump - Mar 27, 2025, 1:50 AM ET )

If the European Union works with Canada in order to do economic harm to the USA, large scale Tariffs, far larger than currently planned, will be placed on them both in order to protect the best friend that each of those two countries has ever had!

New York CNN:

South Korea-based Hyundai and President Donald Trump announced a $20 billion investment in US on-shoring on Monday, which includes a $5 billion steel plant in Louisiana, at the White House Monday.

The $5.8 billion Louisiana facility will be the car manufacturers’ first full steel manufacturing facility in the US and will produce more than 2.7 million metric tons of steel a year and create more than 1,400 jobs. It will supply the steel to auto plants in Alabama and Georgia.

The announcement this afternoon at the White House included Trump, Hyundai Chairman Euisun Chung and Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry.

Yes there’s going to be all kinds of anecdotal stories about companies coming to the U.S. investment in the U.S. etc. But they won’t come close to making up for the cost of these tariffs. According to the vast majority of economists from all sides of the political spectrum, there will be far more jobs lost than gained and the rise in prices will be extremely painful.

Hope Im wrong since it appears we’re going through with this no matter what. I don’t think I am.
