Good point. I have never seen the Mardi Gras parade in N.O or the Mummers parade in Philly.  Potentially those would change my mind.. I do suspect if i were to watch one with you, bunny, that I would end up so intoxicated I would only remember it from the police video of my arrest.

 I’m somewhat of a grandpa. Get a good parking spot and when you get there, hang and watch in the back, sit in a chair and watch it from there with a cooler of beer and Gatorade. And enjoy the experience with all the sights and sounds, marching bands, and just people watch.

Ohhh, and BTW, the Military spends over 1 Billion dollars a year on recruitment.  They just got their money's worth! They recruited  hundreds of new soldiers over the weekend and expect it to be in the thousands from this.

I would hesitate to assign meaning, or take the word of someone trying to assign meaning, to the soldiers actions during the parade on Saturday.

I would say this- if it is true that they were taking it more light-hearted than maybe the intention was that would make sense. I know plenty of people in the military now and over the years (I would imagine many of you do as well) and they don't necessarily want to be used as a political pawn. They already are to some degree because they know that the aggressiveness against the military will change functionally depending on the President at any given time but this event on Saturday was not about celebrating the military. It was about one man using them as a clear political chess piece and in a roundabout way as a celebration of himself. Why would someone sacrificing their life day in and day out for our liberties be for a superficial look like this? The men and women in the military deserve better than that.

I can think of no better way to honor the U.S. Army on its 250th birthday than for our narcissistic, autocratic president making the parade about himself and his birthday, resulting in a huge waste of taxpayer dollars and pathetic, embarrassing attendance while No Kings and Pride events draw tens of millions.

Yes the parade was applied for last year- I never said otherwise. But it was for a relatively small gathering at the National Mall and not a full scale parade and event like it became at Trump's insistence.

OK, so take out the worldwide Pride events and add in all the Pride events for U.S. cities I didn't list. I only listed a handful. 

Easily more than 20 million combined. 

However you slice it, it still is exponentially larger than the 8,627 who showed for Trump's pitiful and embarrassing parade.
