BREAKING: Iran coordinated their attack on the U.S. air base in Qatar with Qatari officials to "symbolically" strike the U.S. and to provide an "exit ramp," according to the New York Times.

Iran reached out ahead of time to tell Qatar of the attack to "minimize casualties."

There won't be boots on the ground,, well maybe Israeli in a limited raid type capacity.  I do think they, or we, are capable of just killing the leaders and letting them fight it out for power after that.  I've heard people speculate the Israeli's have a regime plan in mind, but I have no reason to think it would succeed any better than our previous efforts in that region have.  If you're gonna kill the regime, best to let their people hash it out after.

It’s one thing for the New York Times to report that Iran did this. Then everyone can deny and it stays unofficial. For Trump to do it- that’s publicly shaming Iran and it seems extremely stupid to me. Now if I was Iran I would feel compelled to strike again and escalate things further. Not saying they will but Trump continuing to act like an idiot is not helping.

Further reporting from the NYT: the “2 week thing” was a deception created by the Pentagon who was afraid that Trump was going around bragging about the attack to his Fox buddies and they were concerned it would get out to the Iranians. So they convinced Trump it would be sneaky for him to say 2 weeks and then attack in a few days. He loved the idea.
