I haven't been in the GC nearly as long as some of you, but I've rarely seen a thread devolve as quickly and thoroughly as this one did. Multiple people dead as a result of politically-motivated murders, suspect at large for 24 hours or more. Was supposed to go to a graduation party on Saturday in the area, it was canceled due to the shelter in place orders. Grad and family were heartbroken.

This shite actually affects people, lots of them, and most of you only GAF about scoring political points and blaming the "other side." Seems like we deserve what we're getting.

For me I think if I ever were off the rails enough to do something where that was the likely end result if I got caught, whatever I was doing I'd better be ready to die for it.  I've listened to too many ex prisoners talk about spending lots of years in prison.  I think I'd rather just take the L up front.  But who knows, if you're loony enough to do something like that, your mind isn't working right to begin with.

That's why I was, like @easilyscan, expecting them to find him dead somewhere.  He has to know he's spending the rest of his life in prison.  Or is he?  Because in today's society we're seriously considering setting the Menendez Brothers free, and we recently set a Manson follower free as well.  So, we give them hope with our stupidity.  But hopefully since this guy is going in to prison at a relatively advanced age he'll stay there.  Or the feds fry him.

If I were him I'd rather go with the Feds than a state.  Maybe it's different in the upper Midwest.  I've been told the Pacific Northwest prisons aren't as bad as the ones here in the South but the guys who get out here think the Fed prisoners have it made by comparison.  Look, every outcome is bad.  Some hells are just worse than others.
