Showboat 256 Posted July 22 Anybody concerned about the holdout? Probably a nothing-burger if resolved in the next week or two, but it could have an impact if it extends deep into camp. Both Lamb and Chase had sluggish starts after holdouts last season.

Both Lamb and Chase had sluggish starts after holdouts last season. if it gets to a point where he is missing a significant part of camp then I'd get concerned. its important to get decent face time with your QB to maintain that connection. if he misses significant time in the pre season it could affect his numbers in the early part of the season. for now, I'd treat it as a nothingburger, but if this becomes prolonged and evolves into the situation I mentioned above then I'd start to discount his value. LaChup 233 Posted July 23 I'm not concerned because Croskey-Merritt is going to go HAM!

WhiteWonder 2,753 Posted Sunday at 04:34 PM I wouldn't hate it if the Jets made a move to trade for him. Not because I care about the whole Ohio State connection, i'm not looking to be the Knicks and rebuild Villanova haha, but the Jets #2 WR is currently Josh Reynolds. If we are going to give Fields the best shot to potentially develop into a real QB, we already built the line up, he's got a star WR, a very good dual threat RB, and we drafted a TE. Lets go get that WR2.
weepaws 3,202 Posted Sunday at 04:45 PM Would hate it if he ended up with the jets. Why ruin to WRs in one ff season. He’s going to sign.

Good thing he got paid already So the bigger issue with Rodgers is that the relationship with Wilson was strained. Rodgers wanted his buddy as the WR1 and in typical woody Johnson fashion, they bent over backwards to accommodate Rodgers. That’s why there were some rubbings early in the offseason that Garrett wanted to be traded. Fields is not a great passer but he has rapport with Wilson and Wilson is happy to have him

I also think he is going to sign. He holds most of the leverage against a team that thinks it’s on the cusp. im just saying I’d love if they jets could pull off a deal for him. I think the talent is there. so even if Fields is a lesser QB than Rodgers, if that connection is better, Wilson could conceivably do better with Fields at QB

TBayXXXVII 2,552 Posted 5 hours ago Courtland Sutton just signed a 4-yr deal for $92M ($41M guaranteed). Godwin signed a deal not much different, in terms of AAV. If McLaurin wants a deal bigger than Sutton's (or Godwin's), by a lot, he's not getting signed. They'll tag him. I can see a 4-yr deal at $96M being reasonable. I mean, the dude is going to be 30 in 2 months.
listen2me 23 1,873 Posted 5 hours ago I like Scary Terry. But word has been he has referenced DK Metcalf's contract. And may actually want more than 33 per year. Which is a bit absurd. Could just be high balling and willing to take much less if offered. Id assume they work it out. But I dont see the Skins giving him that sort of money. listen2me 23 1,873 Posted 5 hours ago Im not tootin GBs horn as they havent gotten over humps. But teams will need to start recycling WRs. Sure if its a young top 2 WR Jamar Chase, you keep him in house with Burrow. But there are loads of WRs in each draft these days as HS and College has been more of a 7 on 7 type game. WR is deep almost every draft. A good QB and a good offensive gameplanner can produce real good offense with a stable of capable guys with different attributes. Im not a best ball player, but more in that format. Fields will go off a few times and Garrett will too ala DJ Moore. But hes going to have several 2 catch 28 yard games when Fields has his handful of 20 attempt 140 yard games.

Though I think they ran a fairly conservative offense with him In Pittsburgh. but given his propensity to throw INT's it may have been the best thing for him. I suspect they will open things up for him a bit once he gets in tune with his new offense. Either way, we shall see. Its gonna be a fun one to watch. I think the problem that the Redskins have is that they've been very bad and inactive in addressing the WR position. Since drafting McLaurin in 2019, this is who they've drafted: Rnd Player 4 Jaylin Lane 3 Luke McCaffrey 1 Jahan Dotson 3 Dyami Brown 7 Dax Milne 4 Antonio Gandy-Golden Other than the top 2, who were just drafted this year and last, none of them are on the team now. McCaffrey's first year doesn't look promising either. The kid played a third of the snaps last year (419) and only caught 18 passes. I think they're stuck between a rock and hard place.
