Odds are, the illegal immigrants are from South Korea

They are all from South Korea. That entire plant is run by Koreans.

That Plant was completed and opened under the Biden Admin 2.years ago. The Democrat Mayor let the violent Dog Eating Koreans run wild.

Democrat Mayor 😂

A historic day in Garden City. For the first time, a Black mayor is in charge of city government.

Bruce Campbell took the oath of office before family, friends and supporters Thursday.

Bruce Campbell isn't black and it'd be tragic to learn that he is a Democrat. This must be the imposter Bruce Campbell without the gun.

Dogs = Pets + Food

While most cultures (particularly Western culture) view dogs exclusively as companion animals, Korean culture differentiates between dogs kept as pets and dogs raised for meat. Nureongi, commonly referred to as “meat dogs,” are the breed most often raised for meat in Korea. It is generally accepted in Korean culture that the nureongi breed is livestock and not suitable for use as companion animals. We highly doubt that these wonderful creatures share this opinion.

Will be interesting to see how this plays out on multiple fronts.

I watched the press conference and they claim this was a months-long investigation so hopefully law enforcement had their ducks in a row.

But some are claiming that most of those detained were on visas, but possibly a visa meant for “training.”  My understanding is they weren’t actually working at the plant, they were building the plant.  And it of course is a battery plant so it’s not just throwing up some drywall.

Regardless, will be interesting to see if anything happens with other South Korean companies investing in US manufacturing.

“Hey guys, how do we top raiding street vendors outside of Home Depot?”

“How about putting a few hundred skilled Koreans in chains?”

South Korea is sending a plane to pick them up.  End of story.  See how easy that is?

We should send the illegal South Koreans to Mexico, and send the illegal Mexicans to South Korea. See how those countries like illegal immigration.

You know what’s sad? People were genuinely excited and hopeful about jobs coming to the area, when in fact they don’t even hire Americans!

This was the case in Newark, NJ. I lived in Newark and many people were unemployed or under-employed despite being surrounded by factories! They never hired us. In fact, there was no way to see inside these plants. The people came to work in darkness (around 5 am) and left before most people were off from work. But in the hot summers you could see inside because they open these huge slats of windows and then you see them, working with fans all around, sweating, mostly women, Hispanics. Sweatshops! It looked miserable, but I needed a job. Even when I ran into a lady and tried to ask her about hiring, she refused to speak to me.

I would pass by the Kia plant on my way from Georgia to Alabama and wished I lived near so I could work there. My family is from Detroit and car plants helped our people leave Mississippi and Georgia farming. I bet there are folks right now that have had a similar experience I had in Newark: That despite this big factory, no jobs for you because you’re an American. It’s happening to the poor in the inner cities and apparently to the poor in rural areas.

ETA,

Was reading a Reddit where a guy was wondering why the town of the Kia plant was filled with Korean restaurants. He wondered if they were only hiring Koreans inside. This was 7 years ago. The guy was right on the money.

And then people say, the immigrants come here and work hard, blah, blah, blah…No they selectively hire their own. This happens in tech as well.

The Kia plant was built in 2009 and Wikipedia says the town population is only 2% Asian.  The restaurants are probably more geared towards visiting executives on expense accounts.

And the plant literally gives tours to the public.  Would probably be hard to hide if they only had Koreans working there

Actually, that was what one of the Reddit guys answered. Perhaps they don’t hire illegal Koreans at Kia (to overwork and underpay them) and the Hyundai plant where 425 illegal Koreans were working was just an anomaly.

As mentioned, my understanding is these people were not planned to be permanent employees, they were building the plant so that Americans could be hired to work there.  The people detained likely included many engineers and such.

You could tell that by looking at the backs of their heads and a bunch of blurred faces?  And I never said they were ALL engineers.

The story is that these people were building the plan and helping to set it up to potentially train the people who will work there.

Not sure how much of that is true, but I'm glad we could glean stuff about people from the backs of their heads.
