FBI arrests 2 after incendiary device left under FOX 13 News vehicle

MAGNA, Utah — Two men have been arrested after allegedly leaving an incendiary device underneath a FOX 13 News vehicle and then forcing an evacuation of a Magna neighborhood when the FBI served an overnight warrant on their home.

The men, Adeeb Nasir, 58, and Adil Justice Ahmed Nasir, 31, were booked into jail and face multiple charges, including Threat of Terrorism, Possessing Weapons of Mass Destruction, and Possessing Explosive Devices.

The device underneath the FOX 13 News vehicle was originally located on Friday and determined to be real. According to officials, the device had been lit but "failed to function."

Because of the type of device discovered and where it was located, it was considered a significant threat to public safety, leading the FBI to assume jurisdiction over the case.

During the FBI investigation, the suspects were tracked to a Magna home in the 2700 South block of 8500 West.

On Saturday, the FBI served a warrant on the home, along with the Salt Lake City Police Department and Unified Fire bomb squads to make sure no other explosive devices were a danger inside.

The men were located at the home, and during the search, told investigators that "two hoax weapons of mass destruction" that officials discovered were "real," the arrest report stated.

Because of the devices, the home was evacuated, as well as nearby homes in the neighborhood.

Although the warrant was issued for the search of evidence related to the incendiary devices found under the FOX 13 News vehicle, law enforcement officials "observed additional contraband and evidence of crimes outside the scope of the original warrant, to include firearms and firearm related items, explosives and explosive-related components, illegal narcotics and associated paraphernalia, as well as electronic devices reasonably believed to contain evidence" of the original device that was discovered.

According to the Salt Lake City Police Department, both men had a protective orders that prohibits them from possessing firearms.

“FOX 13 News is working closely with law-enforcement and our risk management team, with the safety of our employees as our top priority," said FOX 13 Station Manager Leona Wood.

Remember, the culture is fine.  We should assimilate them.  And by assimilate, I mean let them practice a culture which is anathema to Western values.

Also, based on the names and ages, maybe a father/son terrorist Muslim combo.  Fathers teaching their culture of hate and murder to their sons.  Quite touching.

The culture is fine.

Every time there is an event like this I have close Muslim friends who cringe in fear about what the reaction will be and if they will face persecution. That is not hyperbole. They really are afraid. I’m talking about families here, including young children. You’re not helping.

Religion of piece Jerry.  Religion of piece.  And when I say piece I mean pieces of a body that have been forcibly removed from their owner.

Have you ever been to a mosque? I was at one last month for an event. Do you know what they did after the service? Had tea and cookies. Just like church and Temple.

Seriously these are normal people. I’m not trying to be a jerk here or troll or anything. But I just wish some of you could realize that there are real people here who have done no wrong who could be badly hurt by this constant hateful rhetoric.

My predetermined opinion that most American Muslims are normal people and not threats to the rest of us? What should I use if not anecdotal evidence? Do you want statistics? I can offer that as well. Will it do any good?

Norm MacDonald-

What terrifies me is if ISIS were to detonate a nuclear device and kill 50 million Americans. Imagine the backlash against peaceful Muslims?

Why wouldn’t we be?  I am sure there is reason for that

We just had a domestic terrorist assassinate a major political figure. Maybe something should be done to prevent domestic terrorists from obtaining certain types of guns.

13 - 50.  Profile and keep your head on a swivel around em.  That's what statistics are good for.

I agree that all Muslims aren't martyr's in waiting, and just want to live a peaceful life.  What needs to happen with them, black folks, and other minorities is for people in those communities to get up and say, "this needs to stop".  They need the white liberal to stop babying them.  They need the white liberal to stop white knighting to protecting them.  No one has a problem when white people are committing crimes, getting arrested and going to jail.  No one is yelling out "due process", no one is yelling out for profiling.  More white people every year commit more crimes than any other race.  Why are we ok with holding white people accountable, but seem to struggle with holding others?  Stop making excuses them.  Heck, there were towns and counties in Texas that voted straight red to protect the border.  What happened?  Liberals said they didn't understand or that they were ignorant.  Why?  Because those people felt that immigrants should come here legally?  Black people are called Uncle Tom's who side with Republican's.  Why?  Because they think black criminals give other blacks a bad reputation?

The reason is because of people like you making excuses for them.  Now, you can choose to support excuses by continually voting for people who race bait to push that agenda and national message, or you can keep calling everyone else a racist, because that's what you are and can't figure out why.

An Imam in Virginia, two days after Kirk's death, gave a sermon where he said the world is a better place without Charlie Kirk and that seeing Kirk's family and friends tears made him smile.  Such a compassionate, tolerant, and all around beautiful religion.

Do you ever go to a mosque for a non-special event?

One or two visits for "events" is hardly being a part of their culture and understanding it.

Fasting until 6pm everyday during Ramadan to show support does not a Muslim make.

I don't go to a wedding at a Catholic Church and then claim that their culture "is fine."

Because I don't know enough about their culture to claim that "it's fine."

I am not Catholic, and my experience that I have had has been just "events." I have read plenty about corruption within the church, pedophilia, money laundering, among other things.

Should I judge that experience and say that the culture is "fine?"

My basic point is that you can't claim a culture "is fine" when all you've done is go to events at their places of worship; you know nothing about their culture by just doing that.

Would you say that Satanist culture "is fine?" If it's not fine, what exactly do you know about it?

I’m not arguing you have to get an Anthropology degree, but yes? I’d say yes you can say it’s fine. I went to a Baptist wedding in Lake Providence LA once. My word, no alcohol. Downright heathenish I’d say, but they’re my fellow Americans & Louisianians so yes absolutely their culture is fine & even beautiful. That’s what makes this country great for Allah’s sake.
