There's a fair point that when the gubbermint gets involved, it's bad.  What I don't like is those on the left acting like this is unprecedented.  It's not and it has been proven to be not.  

So where are we?   Seems the gubbermint doesn't really want free speech.  None of them do.  They want to control the information coming to you.   And it doesn't look like it's gonna stop anytime soon

OK- but you may not be seeing this as part of a bigger picture, which is this: Trump is trying to establish authoritarianism and thus is part of it. Whatever bad things Democrats and Republicans have done before (and they have) what Trump is doing is worse. That’s why he needs to be opposed.

For the record, there is a federal law "73.1217 Broadcast hoaxes" that may have been broken by Jimmy Kimmel:
