I must have a better memory of all this than most of you because it was such an intense experience.

Let's go back to the early days, when Rudy Gobert essentially shut down the NBA.

NCAA cancelled March Madness!  I had taken that Friday off as a vacation day.   Was gonna grab a few bucks, head to the local casino and bet on some games, have a few drinks.  I was looking forward to it.   Nope.   Killed it.

Let's go back to the early days, when Rudy Gobert essentially shut down the NBA. That's when things really started to snowball. Very little was known about this novel virus. There were many theories that turned out to be BS, including those presented by NIH, WHO, and the CDC. That is what happens in these circumstances. We were all wearing cloth masks because they were supposed to offer some level of protection, which we later found out wasn't effective. Those were recommended because large hospitals were unable to source proper PPE for their staff members, who needed them far more than the average individual.

It took months for research to catch up with the initial recommendations and determine that some of them were ineffective. During this time, the virus became increasingly politicized as people refused to follow social distancing recommendations, claimed it was "no worse than the flu", flat refused to wear masks in public even when they were symptomatic, refused to believe it was even happening and fully embraced the BS 'lockdown" narrative, getting all pissy about their "rights being violated." It was at this point that I heard stories from coworkers about being in an ICU with a patient taking their last breaths on a ventilator while their loved one screamed at them "you're killing him! You're just getting rich while he dies!" when that was obviously bullshit. Lots of people in healthcare ended up with some level of PTSD from the ordeal.

I do not like government overreach. Or censorship. I did not and will not support gov't mandated lockdowns. But when people are ignoring public safety and putting others at risk based solely on politics, the needs of the many outweigh the indignation of the minority. And don't tell me it wasn't political. Practically universally those that defied safety recommendations were of one political stripe: yours.

I guarantee you I wore a mask for a helluva lot longer than you did. It was unpleasant, but I did what I felt was right when my actions, even inadvertent ones, could potentially kill someone. That mattered to me. It did not seem to matter for many righties.

Some were reasonable, some were just outright dumb and absurd government overreach.  That's when I started to say this is a bunch of phooey.  In Michigan, you could go to a Meijer store and buy food.  But the outdoor furniture, seeds for your garden..all roped off and you weren't allowed to buy them.  it got to the point of being laughable.  There were recommendations that you leave your groceries on the porch for THREE DAYS before bringing them in.   There was so much damn misinformation, from both sides.  The science "experts" so many trust in told us the vaccine would prevent us from getting covid.  Moderna and Pfizer were in the 90's, JJ in the 70's.  That turned out to be a bunch of BS.  Full on BS.  Yet we were STILL told to trust the "experts"   We are being told again to trust these so called "experts" and they many times don't know sheet.  And what's worse, instead of saying "yeah we got it wrong, it didn't prevent you from getting covid" there were people coming out later(I think Fauci was even one) who lied their asses off and said they never said it would prevent you from getting it.  Sorry, but that can make anyone question the "experts"

Add to it the governmental suppression of ANY discussion that didn't fit their narrative, and you create a whole gaggle of non believers.

Throughout 2021 this was accurate, as shown in multiple studies.

The first week or two everyone was flying by the seat of their pants but after the fog of war cleared there were things that made no sense. I understand where you are coming from. Why would the government strong arm me and others that didn’t have much face to face interactions with the general public and not require it for my workers? They even discouraged them. No masks for them and yet I was required when I was on the floor with them. It made no sense. Over 700,000 employees. That raised lots of flags

Obviously I can't comment on what your employer's rationale was. Seems illogical, but I wasn't there.

I believe powerfully in personal freedoms. They should be almost inviolable, with one glaring exception: public health. Nobody has the right to claim their personal freedom trumps the health and well being of others. That is exactly what occurred. I wore those stupid masks proudly because I knew I was doing my level best to protect others in one small way that took little effort on my part.

What I saw from MAGA during those times was a lot of folks whose actions loudly proclaimed that their opinions, politics, and material comfort was more important than the well being-- hell the very lives-- of others.

That was an eye opening lesson I'll never forget.

Because you are a liberal sucker who believes lies. 😆

Those masks did nothing helpful. Proven.

The shots killed people, and were not necessary in the least for healthy people who didn't want to put that in their bodirs.

But I bet you are all in for women killing their babies. You vote for it.

Liberals are so stupid. And this ass is simply repeating over and over what the liberal collective tells him to say.

Now you’re just lying.  But that’s your right thanks to the constitution.
