She’s out there immediately talking about this without any details. The border czar guy Tom Homan handled it much better, boot Barbie Ice and put him in charge at least.

Not well. I'm under the impression that the specific neighborhood that took place in isn't so bad, but So. Mpls is weird that way. You can be in a nice neighborhood, go three blocks, be in a bad neighborhood, go a few more, it gets nice again. I have not lived So. Mpls since the mid-90s, though. That was at Minnehaha ave and 38th st south, a few miles SE of where this and Floyd's murder happened. That area was much closer to the epicenter of the Floyd riots and was a bad place back then. In the year I lived in that location the c-store across the street was robbed several times. I am not under the impression it's gotten much better.

@Drizzay still lives in Mpls, he would know current state better than I do. I don't get to that area often, my people are in NE Mpls and the burbs mostly.

Oh, it's a local spot, too. I've only been there once and it was long after I moved away from the cities. When I lived there I was too poor (and underage) to really enjoy eating out (the kind you go to a restaurant for, anyway).

Here's a good tip for visitors: don't walk on the railroad tressels from the east bank of the U over the river while you're in a group of 8 people tripping on acid. I learned this the hard way.

It's not the greatest.  Anything East of 35w and North of E 38th st is sketchy.  The farther north you get (towards downtown) the worse it is.  There are pockets of good over there, but it seems to have gotten progressively bad over the past 10 years.

Juxtapose that against the neighborhoods West of 35w (by the lakes and Minneahaha creek), where you have all of the big money houses.

Minneapolis is extremely segregated as far as house value.  It really is North Minneapolis and SE Minneapolis where there is a lot of crime.

 

NE Mpls and SW Mpls are like any other "nice" area of any other major metropolis.  You can have your kids play outside at the park or walk your dog at night without any issue.

It’s on the way from the airport to downtown so usually hit it when I have time. Very close to this shooting I think. I thought that neighborhood was ok but looking at Zillow it’s a bit lower value places.

What value you get there. Some really nice looking houses for like 600k.
