I know this is a sensitive subject. ANY innocent child's death is a tragedy. Should there be laws in effect that punish those that leave weapons where children can access them? Yes.

 

That won't bring back the child however. It's a shame that Humans don't have the ability to be benevolent as a species. If they could, guns....other than for hunting, would not be necessary. Sadly we will never see that day.

 

I carry all the time & secure my weapons as best as possible....thats the best I can do. I don't trust people & will always put myself in the position to defend myself & those that I love. I wish I had a good answer to the problem but we as Human's have not evolved to that point.

Not what anyone is saying. You make efforts to prevent it. Vetting. Surveillance. Intelligence. Thousands of terror plots are thwarted each year. Since 9/11, terrorism has not been a major problem in this country. The posts in this thread are simply showing how good of a job we are doing in preventing it.
