Former President Donald Trump on Tuesday went after Nikki Haley while referring to her by her first name, Nimrata, in the latest example of Trump using racist dog whistles to attack his GOP presidential rival. Haley is the daughter of Indian immigrants and was born Nimrata Nikki Randhawa. She took her husband Michael Haley’s last name after they married. Trump misspelled Nimrata as “Nimrada” as he attacked her in a new post on his social media platform Truth Social. “Anyone listening to Nikki ‘Nimrada’ Haley’s wacked out speech last night, would think that she won the Iowa Primary. She didn’t, and she couldn’t even beat a very flawed Ron DeSanctimonious, who’s out of money, and out of hope,” Trump posted on Truth Social. Trump also recently amplified a post that falsely claimed Haley was ineligible to run for president because her parents were not US citizens at the time of her birth. Haley was born in Bamberg, South Carolina, and is a US citizen. https://www.cnn.com/2024/01/16/politics/trump-attacks-haley-birth-name/index.html Who would back such an assh0le?

Referring to someone by their (mispelled) first name is a racist dogwhistle?

Trump’s supporters have, by and large, accepted his race-baiting, which has been going on for years now (even before he ran the first time.) The best that can be said is that they’re indifferent to it. (Very shortly someone will bring up some stupid racial comment by Joe Biden in this thread. Thats inevitable. It’s very different because Joe’s idiocies on race are never deliberate, and most of them are decades old. But to the Trump faithful it’s no different.)

I am moderately entertained by this. As usual, Liberals tell us exactly what they are. Then they project that thing they are inside on others. Should liberals be afraid of this? I would think not.....not if their actions are "good".....not if their actions are "moral"......but they know, they know very well what they have done and what they are, and they fear what they have earned from their behaviors..... My hope.....is that there is NOT retribution of any kind. Instead, I want him to clean house to the fullest extent possible. All the criminals that acted improperly should be routed out of government and replaced with good people.

We keep telling you guys that if you want to see a sanctuary city/state in action - LOOK AT CALIFORNIA. If you have a completely 100% BLUE run state, LOOK AT CALIFORNIA. This is the FUTURE of the nation if people keep voting this way. NO one listens. People are leaving, our taxes are ridiculous, schools are terrible, crime is terrible, the state's surplus that was bragged about a couple years ago is GONE. Now we have free healthcare for over 700k people. People cross the border and disappear, they commit crimes and are LET OUT the next day. Why do people not look at the bluest state of the nation and see how it's failing?

If MSNBC is about the truth, then why is stupid cuunt still on?

This isn’t defensible, imo. If you’re concerned about all the crazy ass lies coming of Trump’s mouth (and there are many), then you deal with that through “fact checking” and/or commentary. It is admittedly less than ideal but to just refuse to air a newsworthy event is by far the worse option

From the link: She explained that MSNBC and other news outlets are interested in telling the truth. "The reason I’m saying this is, of course, there is a reason that we and other news organizations have generally stopped giving an unfiltered, live platform to remarks by former President Trump," Maddow said. "It is not out of spite, it is not a decision that we relish, it is a decision that we regularly revisit. And, honestly, earnestly, it is not an easy decision." She went on to claim that airing Trump's "untrue" statements live on television hurts MSNBC's brand. "But there is a cost to us, as a news organization," Maddow said, "of knowingly broadcasting untrue things. That is a fundamental truth of our business and who we are. And so, his remarks, tonight, will not air here live. We will monitor them and let you know about any news that he makes."

Well let’s hope so. But I don’t think he’s going to beat Biden anyhow.
