I'm talking billions collectively. The power 5 conferences all have tv contracts making them 50-70 mil per school annually or something like that.
NFL is different. The players get paid based on a negotiated revenue share which established the salary cap. In college, the stars are probably underpaid in terms of percentage of revenue they generate for their school. For example, this QB is getting 14.5M not even coming from revenue. maybe the whole michigan team is getting what? $70M. The program between ticket sales, tv contracts, merchandise, etc, probably pulling in $200M. So the players should probably be making $100M total if we're comparing to NFL.
And I get the whole fan distaste. But that's the evilness of the NCAA and university hitting you. They'd have you believe that the players should play for the love of the game and education while they take in massive amounts of money. Pure sociopathic BS because they sure as shìt ain't fielding these teams and charging reasonable amounts all for the betterment of the student athletes.
