RUDY

Get's me everytime.

This entire year's been a waste! I've just blown another year of eligibility!

Yet in the end, with a proud Papa and once-doubting brother Frank in the stands: :first:

Cavanaugh's anyone??

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest

- when B-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-illy tries to shave his wrists;

- when the Chief tucks McMurphy in for the big dirt nap.

He's heard the naysayers like you before...

You're 5 foot nothin', 100 and nothin', a douche, and you have nearly a speck of athletic ability. And you hung in there with the best college football team in the land for 2 years. And you're gonna walk outta here with a degree from the University of Notre Dame. In this life, you don't have to prove nothin' to nobody but yourself.

And maybe Mungwater.

Sounds like you didn't deal with the death of Pete very well either Mung, seek counseling. <_<

A recent episode of 24 when the nerve gas had them all trapped in the sealed rooms. Rudy and a grunt guard were the only ones that could get to the computer to turn on the air conditioning, but it meant opening the door and letting in the deadly chemicals.

The guard called his daughter to say goodnight (goodbye) and she asked him "will you be home when I wake up daddy?"

Man, I was stuggling there for a few seconds.

A few of mine:

Braveheart (When his big red headed friend tosses his sword at the end)

Crash (when the locksmith has his daughter jump into his arms just as....)

Project X (When that monkey dies in the chamber, but pulls the fire extinguisher to unjam it)

Philadelphia (Showing the home movie clips of the Tom Hanks character as a kid)

Backdraft (Funeral scene with all of the firefighters paying tribute)

And not a theater movie, but a couple of months ago, I saw an HBO special called "Shelter Dogs" that chronicled a dog shelter in upstate New York and followed the stories of several dogs that couldn't get adopted and had to be put down. I should have known better than to watch it. I spent the next 30 minutes sobbing and petting my labrador, apologizing for anytime I'd even been mean to her.

There's a movie called "The War" with Kevin Costner and Elijah Wood in it. Several scenes in it make me emotional.

Don't usually cry much during movies, but that one normally gets me to. Forrest Gump also at times....like someone said, the music in that movie provokes it.

I'm sure there are others. Just can't think of any at the moment......

Steel Magnolias - The part where Sally Field loses it at her daughter's funeral.

Terms of Endearment - the part where Debra Winger is lying in her hospital bed and has to say "Goodbye" to her children because she is going to die.

Stepmom - the part where Susan Sarandon is dying and she is spending her last Christmas with her children and giving them their gifts and explaining to her young son why she won't be there anymore.

*Also - the part where she meets up with Julia Roberts for a drink and they discuss the role J.Roberts will play as their mother when she (S.Sarandon) is gone. SAD!

All right, one more. Anyone ever see that Michael Keaton flick called 'My Life'?

That scene at the end when his kid is watching the video tape he made...

<_<

:argue:

Did you watch that today? Saw it on one of the HBO channels and thought I will have to come in here later to post it because although I didn't watch it today when I did see it I remember it being a tear jerker. Matter of fact, now that I think of it I remember seeing it in the theater and right at that point the film broke. Ever hear a theater full of people sobbing uncontrollably? It actually turned into a sort of needed comic relief.

I cry over movies constantly. But the most ridiculous and embarassing was when I cried at the Rugrats Movie, in the theater with my kid, who yelled out, "You're not crying are you Mommy?"

That was sooooo embarrassing!!!

Something For Joey.

It was a story about 1973 Heisman trophy winner John Cappeletti and his brother, who was dying of some disease.

His Heisman acceptance speech at the end of the movie is gut-wrenching. :argue:

I can't remember the name of the movie, but this guy leaves a half empty beer sitting on the bar and then exits the bar.

Oh also Titanic when Jack failed to push that chubby chick into the water to save his own ass. At worst, he could have used her as a life boat. WTF. How sad is that?

I tear up just reading about that scene. It's not just about a young woman who's about to die. Debra Winger's character was so selfless, the different reactions from the brothers and the look on the younger boy's face as he walks out the door is heartbreaking.
