frank 2,302 Posted May 4, 2006 I guess my computer. Â In a few years, no one will give that answer. Â If I don't count the computer, it's probably my guitar. Â Â Â I'm watching the NBA right now on a big ass TV that technically belongs to my GF.

EndGame 0 Posted May 4, 2006 Interesting question... Â Could be my computer. More likely it's the bigscreen TV. Even that's devalued since I've had it for a few years, though. I have to figure that I've got some kind of family heirloom that's worth a bunch of money, but I can't think of it.

bammbamm 0 Posted May 4, 2006 since i sold all of my toys; 4-wheeler, boat, snowmobile and motorcycle, the answer is pebbles' engagement ring, followed by the new computer we just built, then the big screen TV.
Electric Mayhem 35 Posted May 4, 2006 definitely A/V equipment. Between the plasma, amp, receiver, speakers, remote and DVD player (not including the assload of DVDs/CDs) it's over $6.5K easy.
Patriotsfatboy1 1,432 Posted May 4, 2006 It would probably be the wife's engagement ring. I am assuming that I cannot include my 401k in this discussion. Â Although, I spent more on my oldest son who is adopted. I don't think that we "own" him. More like he "owns" us.
NewbieJr 541 Posted May 4, 2006 In a few years, the answer will be my daughter's braces. Â She had her initial consultation last week. $2300.00 for phase one and $2300.00 for phase two. Her mouth will be worth twice as much as anything else i own.

Recidivist 1 Posted May 4, 2006 How little you know. So if you stop paying your mortgage, they can't take your home? Â Thus, you don't own it. Â HTH Â Actually, it's how little you know. Â A mortgage is a security interest, i.e. a lien. A person who owns a home that is mortgaged, still owns it. They have a deed that is recorded in the public record to put all others on notice that they own it. The bank or other lender also records their security interest (i.e. the mortgage) in that home so all others are on notice that they have a secured interest in that home - not that the bank owns it. That security interest gives the lender the right to foreclose on the property if the owner fails to pay the note which is secured by the mortgage. Â So, pfish mauler indeed owns his boat, the lender merely has a security interest in the collateral. Â I'm hoping you were just fishing for an argument and are not really this ignorant. SO if he stops paying for his boat and wakes up one morning to find it gone, he can call the police? he owns it, they have no right to take it.  Owning it means you can use it as collateral. You cannot use a boat you don't own as collateral. HTH

Owning it means you can use it as collateral. You cannot use a boat you don't own as collateral. HTH  Here's one for ya:  You pay off your house, car, etc. You are 100% out of debt. You OWN everything.  Then you want to get a loan for a vacation, so you go to the bank and they give you a loan. You don't pay the loan. You wake up to find your car gone because the bank took it to pay off the vacation loan. You are saying that the second you took out the vacation loan, you gave up ownership of your car and house simply because they were collateral on the vacation loan. Any women that requires a $5k ring isn't worth having.  Not every man that spends a lot on a ring got "suckered" into it. When I proposed to Mrs. JScott I gave her a band with a few diamond chips in it, as a hold over until we picked out her real ring. She's the one that said she didn't need another ring. I'm the one that wanted to buy her a big diamond engagement ring. And she is very worth it.
