Best Movie Bad-Asses

Recommended Posts

Tough to beat Chingachgook from The Last of the Mohicans. Old guy just speaks softly(or not at all) and carries a big ass stick. Stabs people, breaks arms and throws the thing at a guy running away.

He took down Magua in 20 seconds, heck Chuck Lidell lasted longer then that against Rampage Jackson.

Chingachgook rules!!!

 The Wolf :D

my 1st thought was going to be Jules from Pulp Fiction (just look at what his wallet says :o ) but i think the Wolf may be the winner here.

I thought of Jules too, but he's more like a Co-Lead role, IMO.

Val Kilmer as Doc Holliday

Absolutely.

Also - this list would not be complete without Sean Connery in The Untouchables.

I was going to say Andy Garcia in that one, or even Frank Nitty (Capones boy)

Joe Pesci - Good Fellas

Definately Madsen in Reservoir

Females:

Arquette in True Romance

Chick from The Matrix :D

I don't think Arquette was really a supporting role, though.

You think she was the main character?

Well, she's the narrator of the movie. At the very least, it's her and Slater as the stars.

I suppose. But all she really does is kill Soprano and tell Clarence she loves him.

Slater confronts the pimp, comes up with the selling coke idea, and makes the deal. Quentin wrote the movie about himself, IMO.

She's just along for the ride (outside of the bathroom scene).

Nitti from The Untouchables definitely has to be on that list.

what about Gogo (the female bodyguard) from Kill Bill Vol. 1? Even though she didn't get a lot of screen-time, she nearly killed Uma Thurman...that's gotta count for something.

A few that immediately jump to mind...

John Wayne as Tom Doniphon in The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance

James Caan as Santino "Sonny" Corleone in The Godfather

Rutger Hauer as Roy Batty in Blade Runner

Robet Carlyle as Begbie in Trainspotting

John Wayne is pure bad-ass in The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, and he's really more of a supporting actor to James Stewart in that film. He smacks guys around, punks a bunch of other guys, and single-handedly destroys an entire house.

Caan has probably the best (and most famous) beat-down ever caught on film when he pwns Carlo in front of everybody in the street (he even bashes him with a trash-can lid).

Hauer smashes his own head through a wall for fun. Then drives a nail through his own hand (shortly after taking a fire-iron shot to the skull).

Carlyle is absolutely craaaaazy in Trainspotting.

I can't believe this one has come out yet but

PACINO SCARFACE

Because it's supporting roles only.

Believe it or not, David Caruso's roll in Mad Dog and Glory. Little guy was a tough sucker.

Can Keyser Sose qualify as a supporting role?

If not, then Mr. Blonde (though Big Chris from Lock, Stock, and Two Smokin' Barrels wasn't too shabby either).
