edjr 7,108 Posted October 3, 2007 WHY? It was OK for members of this board to visit a Dale Earnhardt based tribute messageboard and make jokes about his dying, then come back here and laugh about it. It was NOT ok to invoke the name Dale Earnhardt when refering to a certain board member that recently passed? PLEASE EXPLAIN THIS HYPOCRISY! TIA!

phillybear 366 Posted October 3, 2007 Dale Earhart was a fictional character. HTH. YWIA. GDIAPOA.
edjr 7,108 Posted October 3, 2007 I missed all the Dale Earnhardt stuff but if the events happened as you said they did then those people would have to be considered hypocrites. it was a tribute board where you could leave a comment under any name you wanted to, no questions asked. Someone came here and linked it, people started going there and leaving comments. what the geniuses here did was post under "funny" names and leave "funny" comments and then come here to laugh and link to the comments they and other people left. A few hours later the board was taken down from all the insulting comments that were left. Not by just people here, but people all over the world. Apparently they forgot all about that. it looked exactly like this, but as mentioned before it was taken down from the numerous jokes and insults.
KSB2424 3,175 Posted October 3, 2007 It was totally hypocritical. What did you expect from that gaggle of goobers? However, there is a time and a place for all things, and both instances were in poor taste. I guess what I'm saying is "two wrongs don't make a right". Snoopy1 0 Posted October 3, 2007 It wasn't a tribute board. It was an online petition to get Nascar to retire the #3 from competition.

NewbieJr 541 Posted October 3, 2007 And why is it ok for me to spin my daughter around and around and laugh when she tries to walk, but falls down, yet, when I go in some couple's yard down the street and just stand there spinning around and around and laughiung as i fall down, the cops are called? Can someone explain that hypocrisy?

fricker66 93 Posted October 3, 2007 I was not one of the jokesters who posted on the Dale Ernhardt site, but I think the differences are: 1. Dale Earnhardt was a public figure. 2. The jokes were made weeks or months after Earnhardt's death as fans of his were petitioning to retire his number. 3. Dale Earnhardt didn't post nor participate in leagues here. fricker66 93 Posted October 3, 2007 Clubhouse has their own rules about whose death is ok to joke about? Gotcha Your inability to understand this is mind-boggling. I also think it's fair to say that the comments at the Dale Earnhardt site were neither the idea of the "Clubhouse" nor were they posted exclusively by "Clubhouse" members. fricker66 93 Posted October 3, 2007 Did any of them participate? I have no idea as I have neither the time nor inclination to track what my fellow posters are doing at other boards. Perhaps you could take care of that in the future. Who said anything about it being their idea? You're right. I assumed you were accusing them, as you often do, of leading the charge. My bad. Hypocrites? YOU BETCHA!! Answered earlier. You cannot seem to grasp the concept.
