t.j 35 Posted January 6, 2008 Living in Seattle, although not being a Seahawks fan, I can appreciate how much Mike Holmgren and Matt Hasselbeck have brought to this franchise. Seattle is probably the 3rd-best team in the NFL over the last 5 years despite getting no attention. However, they are year in and year out the most disappointing road team I can imagine. It'll be fun to see Hasselbeck vs Favre on more time, and I'll be rooting for the Hawks, but it'll be Favre and the Pack advancing to the NFC Championship game. I still don't understand how playing .500 ball on the road is disappointing. I mean do you expect them to be undefeated on the road? Every year I always say if you go 4-4 on the road, and then win 6-8 home games, which means you are a dominant home team, then you will win 10-12 games a year. that's pretty damn good. The Hawks are 12-12 on the road the past 3 years and have been a dominant home team. That's pretty damn good. That means thay have a 50/50 shot at winning in GB. I like those odds. 49ers_suck 0 Posted January 6, 2008 man this game is interesting. the SEA defense looked like the best unit in the league tonite. the running game may be the deciding factor in the GB v. SEA matchup. SEA isnt the same rush first offense they were a couple years ago, but i thought SA looked pretty good with the carries he got. GB has run the ball with success towards the end of the regular season. i'm thinkin whoever runs the ball more effectively will then be able to open up the passing game. simple football strategy. You have hit the nail on the head. IMO the key to this game is Ryan Grant. If the Seahawks can't control him the way they controlled Portis, the Pack wins big. I think half your problem on the road is the travel.....take the Steelers....besides the AFC Championship game vs. Den in 2005 I can't think of the last time the Steelers won out west. Heck they even lost to Oakland last year. At home, they were genius in how they designed the stadium to keep that noise in. It's like playing in a dome with actual fans (as opposed to Indy and their piped in noise). That and every year you are guaranteed home game vs. Arizona, SF and Rams which is almost half your home games. That's not intended to demine the division, it is what it is, you play your schedule but those teams are always bad on the road let alone in Seattle
Sho Nuff 720 Posted January 6, 2008 are you kidding? their defense was money. it should be a tight game, imo. i could see favre having one of his patented crappy outings against that defense. I could see Favre doing fine...because he won't be just dropping back in 5 and 7 step drops like Collins was nearly all day. And Washington did not have the receiving weapons that GB has. That they are .500 on the road in the past several years does not mean they have a 50/50 shot at winning in GB. That is based on random competition...not based on what their record is on the road when playing against a team that is better than Seattle. HTH

Remind me the score of that game in Carolina? Though, I agree...forecasts this early are pointless. And barring a torrential downpour, or high winds...weather will most likely not be a factor.
