Omaha Steaks Steak Seasoning & black pepper - blot each side with olive oil and grill. Don't overcook. Let it sit a few minutes before eating (this allows the juices to redistribute throughout the steak) - A1 steak sauce

Sometimes I use sea salt - it really makes a moist steak.

Also, on filet mignon I sometimes melt thin slices of butter on top

I totally gotta try the spicy.

Some people don't get that my cooking posts are intentionally ghetto ... but I noticed, they jacked the price on me ... from 99 cents to $1.79!

The come back. I'm hooked now.

Try this wet rub

1/2 cup of

dried Ancho and guajillo peppers, stemed and de-seeded and then ground ( I use a coffee grinder)

2 table spoons sugar in the raw ( Turbanado)

2 table spoons onion powder

2 table spoons fresh ground pepper

1 table spoon chili powder

1 table spoon Chipolte

2 tea spoons cayenne

2 table spoons Worcestershire

1/4 cup of olive oil

1/2 cup honey

mix all in a bowl and apply to steak, let sit for a few hours.

This wet rub is very good on

Chicken quarters

Pork loin

Standing rib roast

i try to keep it simple and subtle--especially if it's a quality piece of meat to begin with...why over-mask the flavor of a great steak?

it's been my experience people go overboard with their marinades and it's more like "i think i'll have a little steak with my marinade."

a simple one i whip up sometimes is equal parts soy sauce, olive oil...then some minced garlic and pepper. not complicated. not overpowering.

I like Montreal steak seasoning, but there's better. For those living in the Twin Cities area, find a Von Hanson's and buy their Special Spice seasoning. It may be one of the best steak seasonings I've ever had. Works great on burgers too with some powdered ranch.

This one caught my attention. I'd like to try it. Do you just throw this in a bowl and baste the steak? Do you marinate it? What quantites do you put in?

And WTF do you mean 1 tbsp Chipolte?

Do you mean a hot sauce .... or an actual tbsp of the pepper itself?

I grew up in ARIZONA .... you got .... no game ... in my book, biatch .... I roast peppers, right on the damn grill. I eat 'em like candy on halloween. Hot ... fresh roasted peppers.

"A chipotle is a smoke-dried jalapeño chili used primarily in Mexican, Mexican-American, Tex-Mex, and Mexican-inspired cuisine."

Notice the absense of Sauce, if the rub called for hot sauce then I would have listed Hot sauce
