Otherwise you are also asking people to never do anything active as you can't hydrate with milk. soda, or beer.....Thus that ones just stupid.

Otherwise you are also asking people to never do anything active as you can't hydrate with milk. soda, or beer.....Thus that ones just stupid. Just because you went 23 years without one doesn't mean it'd be as simple as it was then. Also, you can hydrate with those things. I bet I went 3-4 years drinking only milk and diet soda, with the possibility couple glasses of water a year. (But....I quit drinking soda about 8 weeks ago, and replaced it with water). Marilyn Vos Savant answered a question like that....I just googled it...and here is a portion of her answer: "In yesterday's Parade Magazine, a question was asked to Marilyn Vos Savant (supposedly the woman with the highest IQ as reported in the Guiness Book of World Records) about water. The question was: "I drink caffeine-free diet soda. I think it's a good substitute for water because there's no caffeine or sugar in it and it's virtually all water. Some of my friends disagree. Who's right? Answer: "As a substitute for water, you're right. There's no difference in the hydration factor. But as you know, soda has many other ingredients. Maybe your friends are focusing on those instead. If so, your friends have an argument only if they are drinking plenty of ordinary water each day. Otherwise, they're missing the obvious: Good hydration is way more important than avoiding flavor additives". "

wiffleball 4,789 Posted July 24, 2008 Cell phone, while everybody's idea of a required "must have" is still nothing more than a convenience. There was a time long long ago when if you wanted to talk to somebody and they weren't there - you left a message! For the overwhelming majority of people* the calls you make either 1) Aren't necessary or 2) Can be made from a land-line. I'd have no problem with that one. In fact, it'd sure save me a lot of drunk-dialing and texting drama.

Why would you have to give up your cell phone for the rest of your life, but the other items have different time frames? This can totally sway and manipulate the responses. "Sex of any kind, manual or regular for 3 years' versus 'Sex of any kind, manual or regular for the rest of your life.' the first by implication shows that there is an end in sight, same with the rest of the options. They all have an end in site. It's much easier for people to give things up with an end in site rather than just "the rest of your life" or whatever. In and of it self the rest of one's life does imply an ending as well, but 3 years versus 60 or 70 (or however long you end up living), just doesn't work. FAIL. Poll flawed. Snuff 10 Posted July 24, 2008 So you had one before....what made you decide to get rid of it? Had a long distance relationship with a broad, and it was cheaper in the long run at that time using that than using my home phone. We broke up, I trashed it. Came to realize that I had been fine my first 26 years (at the time) of life without one, and never looked back. I understand many people can't live without one for whatever stupid reasons they have. I'm not one of them. Nothing against them, I just don't understand society's fascination with them. It's just a phone.

WTF? 1.) it's my poll. 2.) Ummm....different time frames are need as "equalizers" to create what I thought was a level playing field. Let's see. What if I would have asked "Would you rather win $100,000 cash tomorrow, or $300,000 cash in 10 years." So what you are saying is, I should have equal time frames, something like this: Which would you rather win tomorrow? 1.) $100,000 2.) $300,000 Yeah...that'd be a heckuva poll. wiffleball 4,789 Posted July 24, 2008 But it's not a level playing field. Why would you give up one thing for a lifetime and the others just for a few years? Because they're not of equal significance. He already pretty much spelled that out for you. 100K now, 300K 10 years from now. - Not that difficult. Cell phone isn't nearly as "essential" as sex. Therefore, the time frame difference. Obtuse much??
