I'm not too sure Fat Teddy or the Scarecrow will change their minds on this. No matter how many calls they get.

Please keep doing this, it is actually having an appreciable impact in Washington. The government may yet listen to us.... :headbanger:

Mine are McCain and Kyl, so we're in good shape here.

We do however have a dem rep (Harry Mitchell). His office sent out a letter touting the benefits of the package, specifically the education parts. My wife sent him an email and told him to suck a big nutsack. :overhead:

I keep calling asking them to just give me another house, preferably taken from someone else more deserving like a fireman or teacher. I sure HOPE it's having an appreciable impact

So if you say that they should vote no on the stimulus bill, does that mean:

A. You don't like this version of the bill but agree that some type pf stimulus bill is needed

or

B. You don't think any type of stimulus bill should be passed.

Personally the whole economic crisis does not affect me much as I am a student sinking into debt. I guess I care more about the long term than the short term. And if a stimulus bill is just going to be a short term fix then I guess I am against it. I'd rather see the economy hit bottom faster and harder as opposed to making it a softer landing spread out over years.

I don't think the tax cuts the republicans want are the solution either. I think the economy is going to stay in the tank for a bit regardless of what is done.

Called and told them to vote YES. Then called my bank and told them I wanted some of the bailout money. Called the sheriff's department and reported a Chad Higdon as a pedophile and topped off the day by calling the TSA and telling them I got on a plane last week after some stranger gave me a secret bag to take on the flight.

Rebel.

I don't know what needs to be done. I hate budget deficits, but understand the need in times of crisis. I'm willing to let Obama and the Dems do what they think is best and evaluate the results. I voted for them based mostly on foreign policy but also disgust with the Republicans on domestic budgetary matters.

Passed with three Republican Senators on board.

Dems have to decide in the future if they want GOP support for bipartisans stuff, they'll need to include more GOP ideas in the plan. Or if they just want to roll over them on party line votes and do what they want. This is essentially the split between Obama and Pelosi doing a good cop-bad cop routine.
