Yeah, you go back to Level 1. In MW1 you got an emblem showing you were prestiged and that was about it. You keep all your titles and callsigns but pretty much everything resets and you start over.

no thanks!

doubt I will

I'm going to do teh prestige.. but I was looking last night at some of the challenges, they must expect you not to flip.. Call in 1k UAVs? I guess it is possible if you do hardline and keep that as your killstreak.

I guess I just like WaW better, overall, thus far.

i went into the prestige mode, went passed screen 1 and 2 and then the part where there was no turning back. Well, I turned back and it made a chicken noise at me. :music_guitarred:

Since Edjr was the one who showed everyone the Walmart $20 Gift card for MW2 - And from reading this thread it doesn't sound like he's all that great at the game I thought I'd help him out with some of the best camping :) spots in the game. Specially since it doesn't hurt me, since I play on the Xbox!

Afganistan

This works better if you start in the North spawn first(Pipeline canyon), but you can often make it using the back route from the South spawn. From the North head straight up to Air Defense West. Most people that are coming from Rocks or the Cave passage way are moving cautiously so you usually have time to plant a claymore or C4(my favorite, people look for claymores, but not little packages of C4, they are so easy to hide) at the bottle neck leading into the area. Now retreat back North and west all the way behind the big artillery piece right next to the ledge and wait. If I camp that area I use an AUG HBAR/Grip and Thermal with Steady Aim. Pretty much anyone coming into that area is heading to the ledge that overlooks The Pit and hardly ever looks back at the artillery in the back. The AUG has great range and can take out anyone creeping up that way. If they come from the North side, you need to be quick, but again most people don't look back there first, so you'll have the advantage.

Generally it takes a concerted effort from your opponents to get you out of that spot. This spot takes can take a lot of patience as sometimes nobody will move back there for awhile. Most of the time once they do, they get pissed there is a camper back there, know exactly where you are, come back and you shoot em again. Sometimes they might get tricky and come back from the other side, and another easy kill.

The artillery piece just provides a ton of cover. Also if you see a lot of enemies in the cave it's easy to move North into Pipeline Canyon and use the AUG with Thermal to pick a few of them off. Be careful if you do that the other popular spot to camp on that board is The Shack and if you don't check that area first a sniper hiding in there will pick you off quick.

HTH helps Ed, tomorrow Derail and Estate.

I only snipe on the 2 big boards, the other ones I sort of find a nice place with only 2 entrances and I set up shop with my claymores and my scar h silenced.

I don't even use a sniper rifle on the 2 boards I snipe, I use Scar h with thermal scope.. doesnt work so well on the snow map, but i still use it.

I just had my first flawless match. 14-4-0. Wasn't really camping but we steamrolled the other team. It felt like the game was over in under 5 minutes. Final score was 10000-3400.

Ground war is by far my favorite way of playing. It varies between TDM and Domination. It provides variety. But the best thing about it is the 9-9 aspect of it. With 50% more users, the game is mayhem.

So I am treying to get mastery for the M4 wow is FMJ stupid. I knew it was I have had it on my .50 cal for a long time and out of 180 kills with it, I only have 6 fmj.

DUMB

After FMJ ill move on to scar then we'll see

I think I am just going to try everythign and get bonuses with them, including the perks.

Also nades are much harder, I hardly get killed by them and only have 30 kills so far with them. It seemed like in mw1 you coudl get a ton of kills with them

I love the SCAR-H, favorite weapon.

Stuck on FMJ for mastery too, but I think I've discovered a trick. If you are on a level that has windows, don't knife out the window, but wait for somebody to come by and shoot them, I think that counts as a bullet penetration kill too. So I'm up to 32 FMJ kills with my SCAR-H and 26 with my .50 CAL now, so I'm closing in on it.

I noticed the same thing with grenades. I'm level 70, and just got my 25 kill with them. I don't use them as much as I did in MW1, but I bet I had 25 nade kills by level 20 in the first game.

So you like the M4, guess I'll try that out next.

The trick that I found with FMJ is when you are trying to shoot someone standing in a window, instead of aiming at the open part of the window, aim just below/to the side. I got my 40 FMJ kills on the M16 in 2 days of play. It also depends on which level you are on. Certain levels favor FMJ kills (like Favela or Scrapyard) while others (like Wasteland) do not. So, I'd have 2 identical load outs, except one had FMJ and the other a silencer. Once I knew which board we were playing on, I'd choose the appropriate setup.

As for the grenades, I have found the kills pretty easy. If you know the basic vicinity of someone, toss the nade and it magically finds its target. I really like the sticky grenades these days.

Saw this on another board, thought it was funny:

Disclaimer: I am a professional ninja, and as such am entitled to enjoy moments of leisure when I am not on a mission abroad or ending people. I don’t often get time to improve my skills at the game, due to my situation. So I just play for fun. Taking a life is a beautiful thing, and I’m glad I can play a game that is reminiscent of my life’s work.

I was spiritually prepared for yet another night of casual Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. I had bought myself approximately four more hours to live, and would not have to abruptly abandon my Xbox 360 for the time being. Although I knew for certain that there was more where these assassins who infiltrated my home came from, I also knew for certain that I could handle them when they decided to burst through my sliding glass door once more. But until then, I would only kill people on a realistic online shooter.

I started up Call of Duty, and went to the multiplayer lobby. I sat in the lobby for a few moments before heading out to Team Deathmatch. I have a habit of checking my k/d ratio every time I sign on. To my satisfaction, I noticed it was still 46.86. Good, all is well thought I. I took care to set my clan tag to “NINJA”, and set my title to Ninja as well. For my emblem I used the picture of the shurikan. My favorite. I entered a Team Deathmatch lobby to the sounds of racial slurs and loud music. The usual thought I with a chuckle.

And then, predictably, they took notice of my clan tag. “Hey, that guy’s clan tag is five letters!”. I grinned and changed it to “SIX NOW”. All went silent, and then everyone in the lobby left. A wise decision on their part.

When the lobby filled up again, they were all too preoccupied with fervent banter regarding each other’s sexual preferences and their mother’s sexual relations to notice my six letter clan tag. Much to my chagrin, Karachi was displayed as the pending map. I gave it 8 votes to skip, and it vanished. We would be playing on High Rise now. Very good thought I

.

The game began and I immediately put on my gillie suit. And I don’t even have a sniper rifle on the class. I rushed outside, and laughed at the fools struggling to leap to the ladder to climb up the scaffolding to the secret rooftop. I leapt up to the popular sniping locale in a single bound. I then threw down a Tactical Insertion for another team mate. Luckily, the guy who happened to spawn up there with me was a sniper. He seemed highly confused and disoriented, but began his duties nonetheless. I saw a group of enemies crossing towards our end of the map. I took out a throwing knife, and let it fly.

“Nice, triple kill.” my sniper ally congratulated me. I needed my knife back however, so used my 3 kill streak to call in my pet falcon to swoop in and retrieve it. “Thanks.” I replied to the sniper, then after catching a bullet that would have nailed him in the skull, I handed it to him and said “And now you’re welcome.” and then leapt off the roof into the chaos below.

I carved my way across the map to the opposite end, getting about 20 knife kills in the process. I would have tried harder, but I was exhausted after a long tedious night of having intercourse with a multitude of attractive females. The lack of testosterone limited my ability to play well, but I did okay I think. Regardless, I made it to their side of High Rise with two more kills to go to a nuke, since I now had 23 kills total. And that’s when it happened.

BOOM! I had been sniped right in the face. Not only had someone bested me, but they had dishonored me. While laying on the cold hard concrete in Last Stand, I whipped out my strategically concealed Model 1887’s and, after locating the prone opponent upon the helipad at least 100 yards away, sent the man straight to digital hell with a shot from both barrels. I then turned the guns on my self, committing the honorable act of hari kari, thus not meriting a death but a kill. I was now 24-0, but sadly had lost my nuke.

When I respawned, the enemy had just put an AC130 up in the air. It disheartened me. There’s no way I’m taking that down, thought I, from this distance. So I made my way once more to the high sniping perch, and readied my weapon. BANG! A flash bang went off right in my eyes, causing me to panic and hit the R trigger. Nonetheless, my throwing knife had indeed struck true, right through the windshield and into the heart of the pilot. The AC130 then erupted into a magnificent display of flames and the explosion both knocked out the enemy’s nearby UAV drone, and caused a EMP wave which disabled all their equipment.

With the enemy in this condition, it was easy for me to mop up any remaining resistance, and I believe I finished with a score of 289-96-0. I guess I did alright.

Upon exiting back into the lobby, I received some messages, the majority of which were death threats (Inevitably, it would be they who died, hehehehe.). One interesting voice message simply consisted of an anguished cry and then a muffled gunshot I believe. On a positive note, I was sent a friend request from a particularly impressed teammate. I kindly denied his request. In person.

Pvssys

acreed.

It's a "style" of play I guess, one could try to suggest that its legit.....but its such a pvssy way to play....I can't get with it. It does make the game more fun to seek out the hiders and kill them, i will give them that. So perhaps they do "fulfill" a purpose to speak of.....candy for good players to feast on
