Claire looks like she just got done with some hot jungle sex.

But she is not nearly as hot as young Eloise Hawking with a gun.

Eloise Hawking = :dunno:

EDIT: Just noticed they have the same rifle. :o

Weird that you'd notice the guns. Just last week I noticed some inconspicuous piece of prop that was used in two different and unrelated scenes. For the life of me, I now cannot recall what it was. An old man's mind grows weak.

:overhead: Hopefully we get the Richard backstory tomorrow.

Is this one about Richard?

Keeps getting weirder. I guess if the island is underwater there are no Others on the island and people like Ben are schoolteachers.

Great episode. The "flashbacks" are kinda slow, other than revealing the small differences in their lives, and these interactions with one another. Definitely answered some bigtime lingering questions.

So, WTF, Flocke's smoke monster ass wants to see if he can make it in the real world or something? You're a damn smoke monster, there aren't too many places where smoke monsters are allowed in the real world!!!!

Dead Locke on the beach had a spider on him. Same spider that bit those two nobodies in season 2 or 3?

Pretty sure that was a crab. I seen lots of 'em. They keep me company.

There were a lot of names crossed out on that wall.

Either Jacob has been looking for a replacement for a long time, or something else is going on.

Bingo. Since maybe Egyptian times. One question though, did all those people die? I am guessing yes.

So the remaining names on the wall were Jack, Sawyer, Hurley, Syaid and Sun/Jin. No Kate? Is that right?

End of series revealed. John Locke takes Jacob's place as protector of island. Not a surprise, as I jotted it down a couple of minutes into tonights episode. MIB is fooled by Jacob.

No other series finale is possible. Rules, blah, blah, blah. The writers aren't bothering tying up loose ends anymore.

Do you see any of the other idiot candidates in that role? People who all were so eager to get off the island. Oceanic 6? Anyone? Bueller?

I was trying to match the numbers in my head again by memory...help me out here.

4 - Locke

8 - Hurley

15 - Sawyer

16 - Sayid

23 - Jack

42 - "Kwon"

Was that right? Would be interesting to pour back through the episodes and find any subtle references to these numbers in each of the characters stories. I'm sure someone's already on that. Either way...we pretty much can't believe anything that MIB said to Sawyer can we? *sigh*

notice that if kwon is jin, then they're all male. might explain no kate. not sure we can believe that its someone to take jacob's place though as on the beach, jacob seemed to care more about human nature (oh and he's dead, so why would he care?)

now the kid that appeared...no idea. looked a lot like claire. is it aaron? jacob? both? ugh.

Jacob appearing as Aaron?

Would that mean MIB was appearing as Walt in the earlier years?

White/black?

I yelled that out jokingly last week when Claire was going all "my baby" on us again.

"OMG...JACOB IS AARON! HE HAS BEEN RESURRECTED! PRAISE JACOB!"

Nobody in the room even responded. :bandana:

I didn't even think of Aaron as a possibility when the kid showed up on the Island though. My initial though was some representation of the Island...then I went to Jacob. Maybe killing Jacob put him back in Smoke Monster mode (might not have been MIB spying on Sawyer in the beginning)? Where he has to find someone dead (that died of their own will - hard to but possible to make this case with Locke - MIB did convince Lock via Richard that he has to die) to takeover to come back as? As in explaining why Dogen and Co would want to kill Sayid (because Jacob told them to)?

You guys are blowing my mind with this Aaron sh1t, i knew he was important, but the resurrection of Jacob? The kid looked just like Aaron maybe 3 years older though. That kids has to be Aaron. Flocke is breaking the rules!!! That bastard!!! Smokie wants off the island, wtf?!?!? He is clearly manipulating Sawyer, because X knows the island is important in ways no one can understand.

Interesting Aaron tidbits from Lostpedia.

*The biblical Aaron is a descendant of Jacob through Levi, Kohath, and Amram. He is the brother of Moses.

*Aaron has met all the main characters except Boone, Richard, and Ilana.

*Both Aaron and Walt have been described as "special" (Aaron by Richard Malkin [psychic] and Walt by Tom).

*Up to Kate returning to the island in "316" and "Whatever Happened, Happened", Aaron was "raised by another" (Kate instead of Claire) despite the many warnings that Richard Malkin gave to Claire. Coincidentally, however, he was briefly raised by a Los Angeles-based family (Jack and Kate) as Malkin had originally intended.

The biggest question I have about this kid in the jungle...why can't Richard see him? And why can Sawyer? Also...to Kate...Jacob touched her. Why isn't her name on the wall?

speculation ran rampant before the season 5 finale that when the blonde actor leaked (who would turn out to be jacob in the first scene) that as we were in the middle of time travel...he looked like he might be a grown-up aaron. that died down as soon as we saw it was jacob.

i tried to go back and watch the kid scene but my dvr is acting up. i thought when richard looked, the kid was gone (not that he necessarily couldn't see him) but i could be wrong.

which reminds me of a long lost vision...of goodwin's wife who warned juliet that the two from the freighter (charlotte and daniel) were going to the tempest to kill everyone on the island. the writers, this off-season, said firmly that jacob has never impersonated anyone else on the island. was that MIB too??

i'm starting to get worried that there are so many questions that we're not going to get all the answers.

An early list, hopefully more additions will follow from screen caps, some unknowns are probably from Black Rock...

2 - Lacombe (French guy)

4 - Locke (John)

8 - Reyes (Hugo)

10 - Mattingly

15 - Ford (James)

16 - Jarrah (Sayid)

20 - Rousseau (Robert, Danielle, or Alex)

23 - Shephard (Jack or Christian)

31 - Rutherford (Shannon)

42 - Kwon (Jin, Sun, or Ji Yeon)

49 - Eko (Mr. or Yemi, depending on what their last name was)

64 - Goldstein

70 - Faraday (Daniel)

71 - Franetzki

90 - Troupe

115 - Bargas

119 - Almieda

140 - Lewis (Charlotte or unnamed parents)

221 - Carlyle (Boone)

313 - Littleton (Claire or Aaron)

317 - Cunningham

396 - Grant

?? - Chang (Dr from Dharma)

?? - Goodspeed (Horace or Ethan or Amy)

?? - Sullivan

No Kate so far. Thank God.

Did Jacob cross off names, or did MIB. If Jacob, then MIB crossing off Locke is meaningless?

When Ben accused Widmore of breaking the rules, it must have been against the rules for anyone to kill a candidate, in which case Alex would have been the Rousseau. So, why did tyoung Charles want to kill Alex to begin with? Is Jacob is a savage murderer and simply kills off people when they are deemed unworthy. Like the Purge.

Ben repeatedly tried to break the rules. He ordered the death of all non females on the beach at the end of Season 3. Ben blew up the freighter with candidates on it. Ben killed Locke. Ben orchestrated the Purge.

Ethan tried to kill Charlie.

Some names are crossed off none at all, some once, some multiple times. These signify how many times they died in previous tests, which would be previous iterations in loops. This is compelling evidence.

The Temple Others were really, really careless trying to kill the Losties without knowing who they were.

re: Richard Malkin

In Season 2, he was the father of the resurrected dead girl that Mr Eko flew to Australia to prove or disprove as a genuine miracle. She had drowned and woke up on the autopsy table. When Eko arrived at the house, Malkin tells Eko that Malkin is a charlatan, a liar, a manipulator of people for money. He most likely is paid off by someone to make sure Claire was on the Oceanic 815 plane, and Eko was too as a result. Not necessarily because Aaron was special. I don't think Aaron was done anything unique up to now.

The same reason no babies were ever allowed to be born on the island.

Horace and Amy Goodspeed gave birth to Ethan Goodspeed/Rom during the Dharma years, helped in birth by Juliet.

Alex was born to tha pregnant Danielle Rousseau and Aaron was born to a pregnant Claire on the island.

Miles and Charlotte were infants on the island, so it's debatable whether they were born on or off island.

Can you imagine that wishy washy colostomy bag Kate as the protector of the island forever?

Then again, Shannon and Charlotte were on the wall too.
