edjr 6,898 Posted January 22, 2010 http://img85.imageshack.us/img85/8606/85701408.jpg Left the house at 9:30 yesterday morning to drive into Boston. Was there until 2:30, the place was like a meat factory, I was in complete shock how many girls under 25 were in there. She ended up being 7 weeks and the medical abortion option was optional, so they gave her a pill to take, she takes the final pills at 2:30 today, no turning back now. When she had the Ultra Sound the doctor told her she had a Bicornuate Uterus she would be lucky to carry a baby to 7 months. I did my own research when I got home and it may have been the best thing after all. A bicornuate uterus is described as one having protrusions at the top of either side of the womb, sometimes giving the uterus a distinct heart-shape (see picture). It is actually a birth defect, so if you do have the condition, it is not due to something you have done or are doing wrong. Likewise, there is no way to correct the condition. Pregnancies in a bicornuate uterus are usually considered high-risk and require extra monitoring because of association with poor reproduction potential. A bicornuate uterus is associated with increased adverse reproductive outcomes like: 1. Recurrent pregnancy loss. The reproductive potential of a bicornuate uterus is usually measured by live birth rate (also called fetal survival rate). This rate is estimated around 63% for a bicornuate uterus. [3] 2. Preterm delivery. With a 15 -25% rate of preterm delivery. The reason that a pregnancy may not reach full-term in a bicornuate uterus often happens when the baby begins to grow in either of the protrusions at the top. A short cervical length seems to be a good predictor of preterm delivery in women with a bicurnuate uterus. [4] 3. Malpresentation (breech birth or transverse presentation). A breech presentation occurs in 40-50% pregnancies with a partial bicornuate uterus and not at all (0%) in complete bicornuate uterus. [5] Sorry Rusty and everyone else. If you ever do get married again down the line or whathaveyou. Yes, that is the good part. The bad part, I am 37. We had a talk and she wants to try again after we have known each other for a lot longer. She is going to take birth control until that time comes. In a few months she is going to see a specialist to find out about her split uterus and see what the doc says.
jerryskids 7,085 Posted January 22, 2010 Good luck bro. I couldn't imagine taking a pill knowing that it would kill the baby inside me. She's going to need your support. Don't be a doosh to her for a while, mkay?

MedStudent 56 Posted January 22, 2010 In a few months she is going to see a specialist to find out about her split uterus and see what the doc says. you actually have really good swimmers because a bicornuate uterus makes conception harder too. I don't think they can do anything to improve the uterus. All her pregnancies will be high risk. The fetus was in a bad place for growth in your ultrasound. If the fetus implants itself in a larger part of the uterus then it has a better chance. So, what would happen if she wanted a baby is that the doctor would probably look at the ultrasound and find out what part of the uterus it attached to and then give you a diagnosis on the chances for survival. She may have to suffer through a miscarriage or two before getting a baby. Not pleasant but if you really want a baby it is worth it. Its also likely the baby will be an early delivery but you would be focken amazed at how early babies can be delivered these days and go on to be perfectly normal. BLS 314 Posted January 22, 2010 co-pay, something you know about when you have insurance, it is a tip. Math, fuckface babykiller. $15 < $28 http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?...uct_id=10910693 My point, had you not been a fuckin retard, was that $15 was a more cost effective methodology of birth control than the typical, socially-accepted methods. it's called irony.
